Chinese beat back JapaneseThe Second Sino-Japanese War has been raging for two years now and China has always seemed on the retreat, or the defense. Shang-hai, one of the largest Chinese cities, has been in Japanese control for most of the war. Recently the Chinese people rebelled against occupying Japanese forces and with Chinese military support were able to drive the Japanese into the sea. Additionally constant revolts have forced Japan to create a puppet state within China in order to placate the peasants. At first glance the recent Chinese victories may seem good as Japan is a Fascist state and thus no friend to France. However China has been traditionally hostile to France, and if they beat the Japanese they may turn their eyes (and armies) to our Asian colonies...

The Chinese are certainly gaining some ground.
Intelligence War ContinuesThe "Silent War" between France and Italy is still going as a Franco-Italian is killed for crimes against the state. Additionally a man shot on the Italian border is identified as another Italian Spy. There is talk of sending all Franco-Italians to internment camps but many are opposed to the idea. We ask our readers, should all Franco-Italians be interned? As always simply mail us your response.
PLD (Parti Libéral Démocrate) Wins Minority GovernmentThe Democrats won a minority government today with the Communists having the second most seats and the National Front with the third most. With two strong liberal parties some expect a coalition government to form. However this may not be the case as the Democrats and the Communists are at odds when it comes to the matter of the market. The Communists are struggling for Central Planning and the Democrats are actually struggling for the government to remain exactly how it is.
John Darc Steps UpA man named John Darc approached us the other day and offered to send us reports from his position in the French Army as a Lieutenant in command of thirty men stationed on the Italian border. His platoon is part of an initiative within the French Army to replace all horses in cavalry divisions with armored and motorized transports. His platoon has two motorized land transports and 16 horses. They are armed with a mix of sub-machine guns and rifles and patrol daily on the lookout for Italian spies. We of course immediately accepted his offer. Expect to hear stories of his printed later.
