What is the rule on buying advancements that aren't on your advancement tree? Wasn't it double the cost, and being approximately the same rank?

if it isn't on your list then you'lle have to ask the gm about it some will just give it a higher cost while others would forbid it

Abculatter, did you roll for it or anything?

Also, speaking of Vassal 40k, would anyone be interested in a game of real 40k on Vassal any time soon?

I rolled for the minor mutation, and let the character generator roll for my stats (I did, however, re-roll more then once for a good willpower roll, disregarding all other stats. I can go back and roll normally for my stats if you want).
The minor powers I did not roll for.

D:  Then why don't you know what it was?

What program are we going to use? There was something on the page before, but it was determined that Vassal does not have a Dark Heresy module. I'm pretty sure we're using MSN though, right? Steam might work better, but I don't know , I don't have an MSN account. World Builder might work though.

I still think Maptool is the best, Vassal is pretty limited in what it can do from what I've seen, I'm not even sure Vassal 40k has d10s and I know it doesn't use a grid.

Alright. I was just screwing around in Vassal 40k, and no it does not have d10s.
MapTool was what I meant by wolrdbuilder.
I also messed around in MapTool, and it's Dark Heresy addon, and it's still pretty limited. Nothing is perfect though.
Vassal 40k could be used if you considered inches to be meters, and you used an exterior dice roller, though. It'd be a lot easier in my opinion than MapTool.

I'm not sure how using two programs to work around limitations in one is easier than using a program dedicated to the task, but it's the GM's call

How much ballistics skill gain when I buy Ballistics Skill (Intermediate)?
Also, I edited my sheet to add the effects of my divination, and I'll edit again once I know the skill increase.

So I just wasted XP, or do I get +10?

Burnt Pies said we'd be starting at 8PM GMT +1.

If you bought both upgrades you get +10.  You can't take the intermediate upgrade without taking the simple upgrade first.
