Parallel Kingdom: a location based mmorpg
« on: September 20, 2010, 02:15:23 am »

I just got an android phone and have been searching around for games when I found this one. It's an mmo that plays out on google maps. Players can build buildings, fight stuff, and increase their territory through the cunning use of flags. There's not a lot of fancy graphics but it's a pretty good concept if ya don't mind grinding.

You'll need an android or iphone to play it, and while it's technically free, you can buy food which seems to be an important item in the game. I haven't gotten to far myself but I've been playing it a lot in the past day or so. I heard someone says it's like runescape, I don't know if that's good, bad or even true, but maybe it'll help you get a better idea of what it's like.

If you do try it and get through the tutorial, the monk will ask you for a referral code. If you use nrird we both get something out of it. I get some food, you get some gold.

I downloaded the Android SDK, just so I can play that alchemy game on windows.

Dunno, I think you can make that thing connect to thar intarwebz, too, so maybe (I havent checked and I won't) you probably DONT need a phone for this?

I sure hope so, because after you got 50 elements on screen in the SDK, it starts to lag around it aint pretty anymore. But the only alchemy flash game I know is a completely different one. Like... sorta turnbased and shiznit.

But I remembered, the game connects to wikipedia just fine. So I'm pretty sure you dont need one of those useless POS phones.

I think it thinks your location is dangerous enough in real life, and that it doesn't need to spice things up for you.

I had trouble the first time I tried playing it too. I was at work and it would not find me. I tried when I got home and it worked fine. Sometimes it's a little wonky but the first try was the worst. After I got it working at home it even worked at work.
