Ok, that clears it all up.  Thanks.

It's important information, just in case both players haven't used the system before.

At any rate, I have joined the network and will possibly be available for a game tomorrow.

the original X-Com had several difficulty settings, did you play on the highest ("superhuman", I think it was called)? I, being much younger, played on the easy setting, which totally screwed up the weapon balance- I took Cydonia with standard issue LAR-1 laser rifles (which I had since month 2) and psy-amps. I'm really "enjoying" playing the game with the more appropriate settings.

The original Enemy unknown had a bug where the difficulty would be set to easy after your first mission, no matter what difficulty you set it to (I don't know whether the version you played had this or not, though). Apparently, it's one of the reasons that TFTD was so hard, as people were complaining about how easy the first one was.

Huh, that's interesting, i always thought that the difficulty setting affected only the macro part of the game. The tactical missions were influenced as well?

Anyone up for a game now? I've got me a craving for handing out some laser-flavoured pain, and wish to do it via the medium of Rifles.

Sorry, I'll be out of town for a few hours.  I hope you find someone.

What is the formula for power armor?  In my single-player game, I have personal armor and elerium.  What else do I need to research?

Thanks!  I got one of those.

Also, I'm back at my Laptop.  Anyone want to play?  Currently on Hamachi under my forum name.

The aliens would be weaker on the easier settings, and stronger on the harder levels. The AI remained the same on all difficulties though.

Is one of you going to write an AAR?

Please.

Also, did they add a new type of UFO? Because I saw one that's definitively not on the wiki. (Finished the mission before I thought to get a screen shot though.)
