I know it's pretty much assumed at this point that everyone in the world has played Silent Hill, but how about starting this thread off with a little more... substance? :) Any particular reason for picking that game?

I tend not to play many disturbing games. I don't like scary movies, either. :( I no like scary for fun.

I agree with Moogie, scary = no fun. However; Pokemon Green with some kind of Japanese - English(?) translation. That game raped my mind. And I laughed a lot. But rape as well.

What were the translation errors?

EVERYTHING WAS TRANSLATED WRONG. EVERYTHING. For example: "Professor PET is ready for his journey! Is PET going to take PET this?"

Silent Hill
Same for me. I just can't ever bring myself to finish it. I always find the industrial ambient music, the rusty metalicness and the knowledge that there's something lurking just beyond the fog too terrifying to take.

Demonophobia
While I never played Demonophobia, I did see a youtube let's play. The difficulty makes it seem like frustration would overtake any terror/disgust that might've arisen otherwise. Fun to watch, though, lots of disturbing things there. By the by, there's a sequel in development called Xenophobia. Currently like 2 levels or so done, I think.

I also recall being rather terrified by the first Blair Witch Project game, Rustin Parr. Though that might've been due to the unwieldy controls (turret movement combined with mouse aim).

Project zero(Fatal frame) with Japanese audio has been the only game with a scary feeling that I've played for a long time. Before that it was silent hill 2 but then i was young and sensitive =P

I'd really like to hear everyone's opinion on the new Pneumbra-style game Amnesia. Anyone tried it? I hear it is scary.

It has the right atmosphere and if you aren't like me you might find it scary. But I felt that I had no reason to be scared, and I will keep that reason to myself to not lessen the experience for anyone else.
