I get up to the loading game screen, and I get the
fatal error:
"missing material template stone template dwarf fortress"
this has only happened in the newest version and when I get the error the game just shuts itself down
I've tried dling a new version, but I don't get the same error

Your original download probably didn't unzip properly.

but I've already played it on that version before...
like, it was working perfectly fine, then I closed to to get a break, and when I starrted again, I got that error

That probably means that it generated a kind of stone that for some reason doesn't have a raw.  Which means it didn't unzip correctly.  Your other save may have not had that kind of stone on the map.

Unless you mean in the same fortress, in which case I have no idea.

Assuming you've made no raw edits to stone, you can copy the 4 inorganic_stone_<foo>.txt files from .\raw\objects\ to the same location in your save file, and that should fix it, unless something is really really buggered.

yeah, it was the same fortress, and I figured out what was wrong
somehow in the transfer only about half ot eh files were transferred over
no freaking idea how it worked b4 though o.O
