I think the rampant nostalgia goggles are exactly why these Pokemon (and the games themselves) are so different to previous gens. Every generation has it's share of stupid-looking or over-designed Pokemon. So does this gen. So will every gen.

Every generation, I put on that nostalgia goggle.  It cannot be broken.

They look nice. Some of them more than others. A few look like they came from C-A-P over at smogon.

Only the third evolution versions of the starters look cool. And yeah, they do look really cartoony. A lot of them are really similar to the older gen pokemon, but you have to expect that, I guess.

I still like the look of some of them, a few look pretty badass, and others look cute :3 They look better than diamond/pearl ones, anyway

Morals? You make a 10-year old boy go out into the wilderness, beat the crap out of a random animal, cram it into a hollowed-out quantum baseball, raise it, then force it to battle other peoples' Pokemon in fights invovling fire, explosions, electicity, etc, and expect it to love you(forget expecting it to survive).

The only moral thing about is the guaranteed free healthcare for them. The Pokemon have a better healthcare system better than humans.

Anyways, SO MANY NEW FIRETYPES. I loooooove firetypes, so I'm loving this generation more than 3rd and 4th gen. And I actually like the art style too. It feels closer to 1st gen than the 3rd and 4th, with 2nd being closest to 1st. At least, in my opinion, and this is with nuclear-powered nostalgia goggles on.

I miss Silver/Gold. At any rate, the only design I liked from these new ones was that lightning zebra. Which was a goddamned lightning zebra.

3rd gen didn't have any.

I don't like the Fire starter. Mainly because it evolves into a Fire/Fighting, just like the previous 2 gens' Fire starters. I mean, really? They could have gone somewhere different with it. Like a Fire/Poison.
