Character: Gubble the Shadow Trickster
Name:Gubble
Legend: Legend says that long ago, a young trickster named Gubble had, getting bored of playing tricks upon the local populace, had attempted to set up a practical joke on Rogharr himself. Although the boy succeeded in splattering the Shadow's face with a rancid sour milk pie, Rogharr immediately cursed the boy to forever haunt the shadows of his dungeon, creating and maintaining the elaborate traps throughout the dungeon.
Description:Gubble, being a being of complete shadow, cannot enter the lighted places of the world without significant penalty upon himself. Some even say that he, like other shadows, will simply cease to exist if he is ever completely illuminated by a strong enough light source. This, combined with his near-ethereal nature and high mobility means that no one has never seen Gubble as anything more then a flickering, retreating shadow, passed off as the product of a fatigued eye or insect flying around the torch.
Personality: Silent as death, never seen yet known, the only clue of Gubble's presence, if he chooses to be known, is the hollow, retreating laugh of a far away child and the numerous, often deadly traps, tricks, and pranks he leaves behind.
Skills: Has an extensive repertoire of shadow-spells geared toward trap-making, illusions, and nearly every other form of mischief.
Gubble cannot be effected by normal physical means, and can only affect physical objects if they are in complete or almost-complete shadow. As Gubble is illuminated, he gradually looses solidity and substance until, at complete illumination (about the brightness of the mid-day sun, applied to his entire form) he is completely obliterated from existence. Gubble cannot level up, and has only the strength of a child, as well as no initial weapon. However, he is capable of near-impossible feats of agility and speed and has an extensive list of shadow-based, non-directly offensive spells.
Spell ideas I had for Gubble:
Shadow Dance: If a line of complete, non-obstructed darkness can be drawn from Gubble to an object of no more then 10lb, then this spell can be used to teleport said object to Gubble's inventory or to a location within 5ft of him.
Levitate Object: Causes an object of up to 5lb to levitate in the air indefinably.
Set Trigger: Causes an object to be set as a trigger for a pre-determined action or spell. This object adopts a peculiar white glossiness which becomes gradually more noticeable as the action or spell it triggers becomes more powerful.
Affect: Must be combined with the Set Trigger spell. Causes a pre-determined force to be acted upon a pre-determined object when the linked trigger is activated.
Manifest Shadow: Manifests a physical object out of pure shadow, which disappears when illuminated (about the strength of torchlight).
Fortify: Strengthens an object at touch and removes deterioration (rust, wear and tear, tarnish, etc.)
Form Static Illusion: Creates an illusionary, static object. This object can be seen as illusionary with a basic examination.
Hide Object: Makes an object slightly more difficult to notice.
Mind Shroud: Causes controlled illusions upon any person within contact of the caster.
More ideas would always be welcome. Also, I'd like to have something at least similar to this.
