The Rogharr Dungeon: Character Information ThreadThe Rogharr Dungeon: Play ThreadIn this game you play in the fantasy-like Dungeon of Rogharr where you seek to destroy Rogharr; the great Shadow. And obtain the famed sword of Unguan together with your party-
members.
The parties:
There will be two parties both consisting of three people and both starting in a different entrance of the dungeon. The parties can work together of course, but are also able to kill each other on sight or just ignore one another. It is also possible you come across a lonely adventurer.
Skill & Weaponry:
Everyone needs to be something human-like and can't be too overpowered as they will get better while fighting in the dungeon. for example: You can be an Elven archer with quite a bit of skill but your weapons and armor are all in very bad shape, or an Elven wanna-be archer with weapons and armor which are in moderate condition but with absolutely no skill. Also, it can't be super armor and weapons in bad shape, cause that is still too good.
Magic:
Magicians, sorcerers, warlocks or whatever you can think of are able to use magic.
Magic is a powerful thing and you can use dozens of types:
Scrolls, Runes, objects, your body, your emotions and a lot more, depending on the type of magic-user you are.
if you're a magician, you can't have any armor in the beginning, as magic is already a very strong class (and armor makes the casters spells less efficient).
You begin with only the basics of your magic class and perhaps a simple staff or wand (depending on your magic class), but you have the ability to use all kinds of scrolls and objects, no matter how strong they are, if you find them.
Alchemy:
If you want to brew potions and stuff you need to know how. Therefore you need to learn it by practising, but that is dangerous. There are also other ways to learn it like: Reading books, special magic scrolls, learning it from others, and so on. Alchemy can be very dangerous but also extremely handy and has alot of uses.
Alchemy is a skill which isn't able to be paired with another skill (at the beginning) like magic cause its a big subject if you think about it. (BTW: We do not have things like 'healing potions', instead, we have 'potions that cure cut wounds more quickly,' for example.)
How to play:
Both parties members are able to do a dozen of things useful for themselves and their group like; fighting, casting spells, healing one another, brew potions and a lot more.
With everything you do, you will get stronger and stronger depending on the thing you're doing.
By working together, you will be a much greater force than working alone, so band together!
When you do something, I will tell you the results as quickly as I can. (In fighting this can be very slow, but I do not know a way to get it to go faster.)
Finally this is how you should create your character:

Member 2:
Name: Dylan Bartlett
Work before adventuring: Student
Lifestory: Dylan's studied magic all of his life. Being in a library poring over old tomes makes for a boring history, though, so he's decided to put his knowledge to the test and seek out legendary artifacts, starting with the sword of Unguan. It'll be a good way to show his skills to the senior wizards and make a name for himself.
Description about him/her(including stuff he/she has): Bartlett's an average sized guy with short black hair, the beginnings of a beard, a fu-manchu-style mustache, and brown eyes. His clothing isn't very flashy and usually consists of a gray shirt, gray pants, travelling boots, a blue pointy hat, and a blue robe since people seem to associate robes and pointy hats with magic, and he's not one to disappoint. He has an oak staff to complete the look.
Personality: On the positive side, he's cheerful, intelligent, strongwilled. Perhaps a bit introverted and quiet but there's nothing wrong with that, or with a healthy dose of curiousity. On the other hand, he tends to be bullheaded, not giving up even when he's in too deep, and he's a perfectionist. His whole life is basically about him proving he's better than anyone else, so he lives in a constant state of one-upsmanship.
Skills: Dylan can use magic, manipulating the ether via arcane words. Although he only has a handful of spells at the moment, he can pick them up quickly from scrolls and books.

Name:
My name is Nanoth Nirvin, well I think that is what my last allies called me...
Work before adventuring:
What year is it, too long have I been stuck in there, memory is quite flimsy on what I did before I entered, so many years back. Naturally I was an adventurer like yourselves, but I did do other things, but I would rather not discuss them, don't want to find out if its gone or not yet. I would rather find out if I ever get out again....
Lifestory: I told you fools before when you pulled me out of that hole, I had descended into this blasted dungeon you two are forcing me to enter again only to fall victim to a trap that led me all over a blasted Labyrinth, don't know what happened to the Elf and Dwarf that joined me, but with only bloody monsters to keep me company down, there I was alone. And now you have grabbed me from my near freedom and so 'kindly' inform me that I am going to lead you down into this bleak dungeon. Why must you force me back down into it, I just want to go home. Let me go damn it...
Alright alright, curse you damn Orkan fool, Mage keep your tame monster away from me would you...
Description: I have all that is on me, not like you didn't strip me of anything value now did you. Almost everything I found down in that Labyrinth I threw at the monsters to leave me alone or to leave behind their food, the fine armour I took with me is now somewhere all battered and broken too, deep in a pit where I had to leave it. These Rags are all I have now, along with this Blade. Which I 'thank' you for leaving me with it, considering you 'proposition', I think its elven make, seems to cut through the air neatly, but still, its chipped and rusted from the years of neglect, you don't have any Weltstones do you? No?... Gah...
Personality:
Well I am bitter right now if that's what your asking you blasted Mage, get buggered, you tell me how I should feel after spending Gods know how many years fighting for my life and food just to get back to the surface, and then be pushed back into the damn place by an Orken Barbarian and a Stupid Mage...
Skills:
DO I KNOW how to FIGHT?!? Look at me, I am covered in scars and bruises, just scraped through all that is bloody vile down in these dungeon and was able to reach the top ALIVE, and you are asking me if I know how to FIGHT!?!?! YOU TELL ME!!! I can swing a sword better then any of my time, I was able to track down any scrap of food when needed and many other blasted things that has kept me alive until now... Bloody Heck, if it wasn't for my state and the fact you have a Ork with you, you Foolish Mage, I would have brushed you aside like snow off my shoulder and went home........ Thats if it still stands......
Well when do we go in.... 'Master....'
Party 2:
Party name: Last Resort
Member 1:
Name: Cain Shallow.
Work before adventuring: Scholar
Lifestory: He grew up as an orphan. He'd sit in a local church, singing songs about how no one cared about him. After a few years of this, the monks finally took interest in him. They taught him the way of healing magic. Then, when he was sixteen, he was given his first sword and shield. They told him he could use both sword and magic, at the cost of both of them being weak.
Description about him/her(including stuff he/she has): Cain is a little below average height, with a small and skinny build. He has long brown hair, which combined with how small he is, makes him look like a girl at times. He wears the lightest of clothing, consisting of a t-shirt and shorts. He also carries a small metal sword and shield.
Personality(Maybe what god or other thing he/she worships): Cain worships almost every god, as long as they've done something good. He despises the gods who created things such as anger and rage. He's usually pretty smart, but if he's put under alot of pressure, he'll freak out.
Skills: Small healing magic. Weak swordsmanship. Might as well be known as a squishy paladin.
Member 2:
Name: Velvet
Race: Human
Work before adventuring: Velvet has years experience on petty crime, prostitution and murder.
Lifestory: Although she keeps it quiet, Velvet has experienced a youth that stole her innocence in every possible way. Left at an orphanage, she quickly found 'owned' by the criminal circuit, 'lend' to the less morally inclined noblemen for extortionate prices. She taught herself how to pick pockets, taking the possessions of those that violated her. On her sixteenth birthday she murdered one of her 'customers'. She ran off, and if caught, she is either be lawfully executed, or murdered in silence by those that she worked for.
Description about him/her(including stuff he/she has): Velvet most often wears loose clothing that does not hinder movement. Her clothing is often full of secret pockets and spaces to hide her possessions. To prevent being recognized she tends to wear a head veil and widely fitting robes.
Personality(Maybe what god or other thing he/she worships): Velvet is a light sleeper, wary of those around her. She tends to either evade contact with others, or give them naught but snappy remarks. Velvet despises all Gods, thinking that they are no more than betrayers to any mortal race. She is capable of faking another personality if she deems it necessary.
Skills: Seduction, Pickpocketing, Sneaking, Fighting with knives, Fencing, Acrobatics, Sewing, Acting
Member 3:
Name: David Muller.
Work before adventuring: He refuses to tell anyone.
Lifestory: Good-luck getting it out of him. He just kinda joined the party, replacing the previous thief. (Who had died the night before.)
Description about him/her(including stuff he/she has): He's wearing a normal set of clothes, has a rather crappy dagger. His lockpicks are made out of needles, with all the quality that it implies.
Personality: He's very secretive, but with a sharp mind and quick fingers. He's highly dedicated, but doesn't take commands very well. He works better relying on his wits and sharp mind than others.
Skills: Great at lockpicking, sneaking, disarming and making traps. Good at fighting with daggers and short swords.
Followers of The Great Shadow:
Gubble
Character: Gubble the Shadow Trickster
Name:Gubble
Legend: Legend says that long ago, a young trickster named Gubble had, getting bored of playing tricks upon the local populace, had attempted to set up a practical joke on Rogharr himself. Although the boy succeeded in splattering the Shadow's face with a rancid sour milk pie, Rogharr immediately cursed the boy to forever haunt the shadows of his dungeon, creating and maintaining the elaborate traps throughout the dungeon.
Description:Gubble, being a being of complete shadow, cannot enter the lighted places of the world without significant penalty upon himself. Some even say that he, like other shadows, will simply cease to exist if he is ever completely illuminated by a strong enough light source. This, combined with his near-ethereal nature and high mobility means that no one has never seen Gubble as anything more then a flickering, retreating shadow, passed off as the product of a fatigued eye or insect flying around the torch.
Personality: Silent as death, never seen yet known, the only clue of Gubble's presence, if he chooses to be known, is the hollow, retreating laugh of a far away child and the numerous, often deadly traps, tricks, and pranks he leaves behind.
Skills: Has an extensive repertoire of shadow-spells geared toward trap-making, illusions, and nearly every other form of mischief.
