generally speaking you only get the one virus, then that virus opens the door to more viruses, and so on until your computer is slower than DF trying to render an hfs attack.

On the work computer I had last year, AVG and maybe Norton were both installed. The damn computer ran at a stupidly slow speed, (taking three minutes to open up a firefox page) until I uninstalled them both. Then it was fine.

Yeah, but Norton is a known resource hog and a double antivirus install is silly as the two both soak up resources (disk space, memory, processor time) and neither is significantly likely to catch anything the other misses.

I use Comodo. It's made by one of the three firms that manage root security certificates. It's useful in that it's an antivirus, firewall, and it's fairly easy to stop a virus in its tracks with it (restricting access to the filesystem, COM interfaces, etc.) Takes a fairly high degree of computer literacy to use it to full effect, but still good either way.

Having 2 antiviruses can conflict, thus leaving you with little protection.

Oh and having Norton is worse than having no protection at all. It just sucks so badly.

Actually, you should be able to go into AVG's settings and set it to allow DF. I'd point you towards the right buttons, but I don't have AVG myself. Uninstalling your antivirus softwares is just a bad idea.

I'd suggest otherwise that you switch off AVG while you run DF, but your description sounds like it'll spring into action before you even launch DF.

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck in sorting this problem out.

Often it will jump at stuff before you even start downloading it.

Though i've had no trouble at all out of it. Just lucky i guess.

If AVG quaranteened your files off, check the virus vault. You should have your stuff still in there. As soon as you add the DF folder to the exceptions list, you will be free to restore it.
