If I set dogs to [CHILD:0.1], Would that work? Or must it be a whole number? Is 1 the lowest that it can be set?

It's an integer, so 1 is the lowest possible.

One-Tenth of a child? I don't think it is possible. It would be awesome though.

Hmmm.

What about this: [CHILD:0:16]? Based on the numbers in the growth section of the raws, this should signify a growth period of 0 years and 16 days.

edit: wrong bracket...

Hmmm.

What about this: {CHILD:0:16]? Based on the numbers in the growth section of the raws, this should signify a growth period of 0 years and 16 days.

Well no error appears in the error log....so now to see if it works.

edit:I'm not exactly sure how it's working but certainly not as expected....one puppy aged quickly while the other didn't.....
I believe that it acts as a min-max instead of year,day.
