Yeah sorry it's prob going to be a few weeks before I play again. The random play dates have screwed me over a bit, not that I mean that in a negative or your fault manner, it just has. I don't really mind. I also just leased an apartment in another city and have been prepping to move into my first apartment and such, and college will be starting soon, so getting ready for that as well.

Server is up.
If it takes you 2 minutes to connect, it is because my IP address refreshed and I'm redoing the port forwarding.
I even went and redid the port forwarding already. Ahead of time. Yes. *cough*

Successful journals for the August 16 session: Stihe, Izaak, Rumus, and Andre. Wait... only 4?
Quick note: bananas are actually reasonably priced in the desert. Lore or Knowledge(local) checks can be made during the session to determine why.

Andre, Stihe, Rumus: 400
Izaak: 460

EDIT: Also Vaba, from the next post, got 400.

I have an awesome spell to replace Bladeweave with, though. One that will shake the very foundations of churches worldwide.

When multiple enemies form a line that is not intercepted by my fellow party members, it's always time to throw something sharp.

That roll-to-skim thing sounds like it would be the best for Haika's character, followed by a general loot dumping to save time. Everyone wins that way!

I don't know what I'm going to do. Every time I try and deal with loot here, all I do is make issues and drama. I don't feel happy with my character, but don't really know the system well enough to deal with making one properly anew. And I was behind the party in levels and gear already.

All I know is, I feel like crap, because this keeps coming up.

Well, what do you want to do?

D&D 3.5 rules are mostly about combat. If you want to be awesome outside of combat, read through the skills thoroughly and think about what you could do with magic. If you want to create objects, control people, mutate yourself, or whatever else with magic, then we can help point out some useful spells and classes.

As for combat, well ,you need to figure out what you want to do. Typically people want some elements of assisting other characters, dealing damage, not being damaged, surviving being damaged, controlling enemies, and role-playing at things, be it sitting down to chronicle the proceedings mid-fight, or making insinuations about character's parentage...

Typically characters will have a style, be it moving around, standing still, acting at a distance, looking like part of the furniture, whatever...

P.S.

Here's the thing, Haika. Out of combat, how things go is largely affected by skills, roleplaying, and some utility-type spells. (Fly, for example.) In combat, almost anything will work. There are many types of characters in combat, such as these examples,

Those who heal (reactive defense)
Those who abjure/summon (active defense/battlefield control)
Those who absorb damage (meatshields)
Those who deal damage to one or two targets (Maelrigar Can be anyone, with differing methods.)
     Ranged
     Melee
Those who deal damage to everything they can (Generally spellcasters)
     Ranged
     Melee

...but all of them are important. Also, in general those optimized for combat are not so optimized for out-of-combat work. Fighters might be able to use their strength to climb cliffs and whatnot, but their diplomacy is probably too low to convince an NPC to do anything. Your character appears to be largely roleplaying based with some sneaky elements thrown in. That doesn't mean it's a bad character, that means it's better at different things.
