Today I and some of my new companions payed a visit to the temple of bokkob. I was checking their assortment of scrolls, where I noticed something awfully strange. Among their pile's of scrolls I could not find a single arcane one, which is suspicious, considering the nature of bokkob as the god of magic. I bought one scroll, to make sure not to look suspicious. It is a scroll that inflicts negativ energies upon a target, which should help me if I can persuade any of druids to help me if Freddy gets damaged.
My attempts at being a stealthy researcher were broken however, as Tenpros, one of the older members of the group, decided to steal something and promptly got caught. I returned to the bote togheter with Andre, one of the druids, and explained the situation to them.
Together, we went back and did some persuasion with the cleric who had taken Tenpros in, and a member of the guard. In the end, we managed to just bribe the two of them into forgetting it, and the price was paid by another of our party. His name is Kenneth, and to my shock I had to learn that he is one of those annoying paladins. In any case, I need to be careful about him. I must not let him know who Freddy once was.
One of our clerics, Kimko if I remeber right, waltzed right into the room we wanted to investigate this, using a crazy sheme about having a vow of silence while looking around the room. Then she came back and told us nothing was in there. Does she not know anything about hidden doors? We still could have gone there tonight and at least cast a spell to search for anything unusual, but no! She and that Paladin told us not to worry about it and cease our plan. I told them about the suspicions I had, but was ignored by them. Kenneth said he had used his paladin magic to see if anyone was evil in that church, and only found evil among our rows. As if that was an excuse to just not suspect them. I should know best that not being evil doesn't mean you're free of all misdeeds.
Anyway, I gave up on it, not wanting to get thrown out of the group. After that, some of us went to take a job from some local mages, to protect from monsters while they did a ritual. I took that time to buy some materials and work on magical item. It is not much, just something to cast a simple transmutation spell with, but I am sure it will be helpful at some point.
That said, can we retcon in that my character used that time to work on a Hand of the Mage?
This mummified elf hand hangs by a golden chain around a character’s neck (taking up space as a magic necklace would). It allows the wearer to utilize the spell mage hand at will.
Faint transmutation; CL 2nd; Craft Wondrous Item, mage hand; Price 900 gp; Weight 2 lb.
