Today's experience: 450 for everyone, for much roleplaying, and Uskton Slek got an extra 900 for defeating an enemy in single combat in one strike.

Uskton Slek Bisected Mathaf!

I say this so everyone catches up nice and quick. Dragons were flying overhead. Vaba shot at them. Well this started an argument over the potential of the fight, and Mathaf was on the kill the dragons side. He decided to try to "This is Sparta!" Uskton Slek off Bote, 20 feet down into the sand below. Well Uskton Slek decided he wasn't having any of that, and neatly cut Mathaf's enlarged self in half.

Emphasized: The child dwarf cut the pro-wrestler enchanted giant in half!

See, this is what happens when his male Role-Model Maelrigar isn't here. Damages a young dwarf's psyche, you know?

Non-Humans! Seriously, what are they thinking!
Things began innocently enough. We left sandsedge for Eriden, but decided to visit the oasis everyone talks about first. It was a uneventful journey to the oasis, but that's where things started getting odd. I filled up on water while the rest checked out this shop selling magical items. Before we left, Uskton Slek started stabbing the ground and trying to challenge some spirit dragon Ethan said lived in the Oasis. He calmed down and we set off. Some hours later, some dragons were sighted in the distance. This caused some sort of a fuss on deck, and suddenly Vaba was shooting arrows at them. I responded to a call to arms, and immediately rushed to get into my armor. While I was getting into my armor, something happened on deck. I am not quite sure exactly what happened, but one of the sailors came below deck and rallied the rest to deal with a serious lack of order on board the ship. I stopped getting into my armor and lead the guards up on deck. There was a pool of blood near the ballista, with Uskton Slek in it's center. He appeared unharmed. Vaba had his bow out and was acting rather nonchalant. Mathaf was nowhere to be seen. The dragons were hovering but didn't appear to be hostile. The Sailor on watch said Vaba was responsible. I immediately confronted him and heard a confusing tale about how Vaba attacked Uskton Slek. I ordered Vaba to drop his weapons and he did so. Well, apparently there was confusion and it was Mathaf who had attacked. Uskton Slek had apparently dispatched him with a single blow. While trying to get the details out, Uskton Slek leveled his new gauntlet at Vaba and unleashed lightening from his hands! It struck Vaba, so I had the guards subdue Uskton Slek. He was quite a handful, but we got him tied up. Vaba decided to pull an arrow out of his quiver. Van removed his quivers and arrow, and we tied him up as well to be safe. He was trying to be stubborn and make it easier to resist, but a firm blow ended that nonsense.

I have them both tied up in separate sections of the ship. We will hold a discussion of what to do with Uskton Slek and Vaba. I think we should send Vaba on his way when we reach the city, since he was picked up along the way, and didn't sign up with us. I also think that our guards and sailors require a special reward for their actions. When we arrive in Eriden I'll have to do something for them. I think we should probably recover Mathaf's body and possessions for his next of kin, although I am not sure I want to haul a corpse around for a long time. Perhaps we'll store it in Eriden and have it delivered to his family when we can. I'll check his possessions for coinage and if it is enough we'll pay for a sending to Tarlach about his fate.

New question: Does being a gnome (and thereby getting SLAs) qualify me as a "spellcaster" for the purposes of taking ranks in Craft (alchemy)? If not, can I take a feat to qualify me as such? Can I use UMD ranks to qualify as such? Or otherwise qualify without having to take levels in a non-rogue class?

I own a necklace of fireball, and I currently hold the ability to breath dragon fire. Does that suit you enough?
