Hmm, perhaps I should make a Journal... yeah that is a good idea.

Nael tried to do what appeared to be a simple trick of magic, as his instructor again did it with such ease. The water again raised to a boil then quieted as it cooled just as quickly. As Nael tried to mimic his teacher, the small glass of water rumbled and and then shattered letting the contents spill everywhere. The teacher raised his hands in an arcane gesture pulling the glass back into one piece as well as refilling it with the spilled water. Then with a sigh of dismal he waved Nael out of the room.

Stalking out of the room Nael simply forgot the lessen, it just was not one of the simple things that he could master with ease. With a flick of his hand a small flame hovered there over it before another flick made it disappear. A flame, one of the easiest things to conjure for him. Although it made no sense really, all a fire was was heat and yet just heat is something he could not summon as easily. Either way it did not matter, if he wanted to heat some water he could always conjure a flame to do it for him.

Just one of the memories Nael pondered over as he walked through the city, he had always been good with fire and that power had been only increasing of late. Perhaps it had something to do with his recent breathing problems, at times he would wheeze in pain as he exhaled smoke. A power inside him was growing, that much Nael was sure of; but what that power was is something that Nael did not know.

According to my recent entries in the XP line on Mythweavers, this is what my recent values were.

As for Legacy Items, assume "no" until I've read the book, which is likely to be a while, since my schedule is full right up for the next week or so.

It would be a while before I could use one anyway, so I'm not worried. They're basically side-quest-powered weapons that you need to spend feats to use. They get magic powers and some bonuses, and at higher levels might achieve sentience, though not all do. I figure that if I'm already going balls-to-the-walls detail for Maelrigar's backstory and character development, I may as well get myself a weapon made of backstory. If you don't like them, oh well. I can just write some words about my normal magic weapon.

Well if we have to vote I will vote for Blind zephyr, am I the only one who remembers charging out into the desert in the hopes that our magic city-finder would happen to find something?

A small number of our party set off towards the city-centre in search of the mage guild, hopeful that we may find evidence of how the city was destroyed, and collect a certain bounty.

 We found only ruins on our path, but located the guild in due course. It was , naturally, also ruined, but seemed stable enough.

 Inside we found it predictably looted, but were fortunate enough to locate a hatch leading to a hidden space below. After some persuasion the hatch gave way and we entered a room with a number of exits, books, and a highly magical cauldron. Apparently, the cauldron was fermenting a large number of mixed magics distilled into a liquid form. Such a thing must be highly unstable, hopefully there are some notes that can be perused before investigating the device itself. In the interests of having a safe environment in which to work, we are investigating the exits, and have located an apparent store-room.

There was an extreme deficit of fighting this week, including the Monday session. So, to prevent utter character stagnation, journals this week are worth 2.5x as much as usual! Earn it you bastards. I mean, you kinda partially have already, what with showing up to the session and doing stuff, but still.

The group seems to be getting sick of being split up, except those who are looting the mage guild, because they are finding some really idiosyncratic schist in there. Including notes on how to make more stuff. Just wait until you guys reach the bottom, there's stuff out the stuff down there. I might have to make another exposition macro just to tell you what all of it is without getting tired.

Also, I finally figured out the park group's motivation: Ethan thought there would be druid stuff hidden in a public park. Well, there wasn't, but they found Tarlach's cactus and stuffed it in the stasis bag.

And I just can't believe you guys don't want to make a holy water elemental. That would just be so damn cool. I would actually take the Improved Familiar feat for one of my characters to have a holy water elemental familiar.

Oh wait... water elementals take -4 to attack if they're on land. Still, it would be cool just to say you have one. Like the titanium elemental, but less munchkiny.

Hey, I didn't expect fucking benches. I was thinking a Pokemon Safari Zone-type deal. Plus, going to the nature area is just the druidy thing to do.

The exploration of the mage guild continues. The west room was pretty boring, with nothing of interest. The east room was a huge and circular. It's most interesting trait was that the floor was glass, and there was an identical room below. There was a dias, with strange magical lifts on it. We searched the top room. Corina found some things, but I'm not sure exactly what. We went down another floor. We searched that room as well. Corina and Mysteller read quite a few notes. We went down two another floor. This one had an anvil and some forging equipment. We went down another floor before there was anything of interest to me. There was a longsword that Corina picked up, and a really nice short sword. It was much better made than my previous sword. I attempted a few basic maneuvers, and it seemed to be very well made. I suspect it might be magical, since everything else in the area is magical. I imagine I should ask Mysteller, who read some notes next to the sword. I think I'll do that as soon as she pulls her nose out of the papers those magic-using folk have been picking up. We went down to the fifth floor. This floor had full plate and a robe. The armor weighs a lot, and I am having difficulty carrying it all. I've dragged the armor with me to the lift. It's going to be hard getting it back to the ship, but the plate is supposedly enchanted. I am sure we can sell it for quite a bit. I need to remember to store my extra supplies on the ship when I'm doing short explorations like this one.

(Other things that happened this session: Ethan and the park group found a quest cactus, looted a leather shop, and went to the Mage Guild. The Ship fetching group got ambushed, won, and made it just shy of the ship. Maelrigar went to a nearby bazaar and looted it, and has 2 more turns of actions to catch up in the next session.)

For once, I do not record tidings of new death or ruin. I still, however, record yet again the foolishness of mky comrades. We discover a underground citadel, the merest search of which has provided items worth as much money as y family has seen in a century, better-equipped for research than any facility that we could even dream of affording, and nobody will listen to me. No, Corina, they say, we don't have enough people to justify it. No, Corina, this site is too remote. No, Corina, the city is haunted. Forget them. If they don't want it, I don't really care. Unless we find someone who can lay rightful claim to it, the fortress is mine, and I will not relinquish it easily. Where else will I be able to study these intriguing notes I've found, that detail weapons that no other could possibly match? Not just weapons. Even I can accept wearing this robe I found for the protection it gives, and these notes suggest a way for wizards to go forth in full battle armor, yet cast with ease. The fools have no idea of the potential power they are throwing away, let alone the wealth. Someday, if we pursue this, we could rule this entire continent. It might take ten years, but that is little sacrifice.

Just so you know, I do plan on taking the Improved familiar feat pretty soon. If you would like to do something interesting with it let me know. Although I wasn't planning on summoning a familiar till I could get the Pseudodragon or the Quasit.
