Okay, since it should now (in theory) have no problems, I'll take it up to 2 (like I should have done in the first place) with an additional 510 gold. (90+510=600)

I believe I read somewhere that the first level starts at maximum HPs +con bonus, and the second would be the average of the Hit dice + con bonus. That's the assumption I made.

I also based my coin weights on 50 gold/lb, 75 silver/lb, and 150 copper/lb (silver based on the quarter, copper based on the penny, gold based on the value of 1 lb of gold in the player handbook I found.)

The speed listed on the sheet is his unencumbered speed. He's currently carrying a heavy load.

Coins have no weight, simply for the reason that it's easier and less annoying that way.
You get full hp at level 1, and after that you may either roll (during a session), or take the average roll rounded up.

The physics issues of massless coins are staggering. Primarily with the issue of acceleration. And energy. Then again, this is the game in which you can move an object ten thousand miles in six seconds with enough people.

How exactly do I figure out how many hit points I have? I've searched SRD for it, but so far I've come up blank.

Here's a step by step:
1. Choose a class, it should say somewhere on it Hit Die: and a die type (1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, or 1d12) on the classes page. You take the highest number on the die.
2. Add your constitution modifier.
3. Roll another Hit Die in-game to determine your next level's HP increase and once again add your constitution modifier.
OR
3. Take the highest possible number on your Die and divide by 2. Add your constitution modifier.

I hope that helped.

EDIT: Be sure to add 10 for the free Heroic Durability feat when your done.

EDIT#2: Fixed the error RedWarrior0 pointed out.

Here's a step by step:
3. Take the highest possible number on your Die and add your constitution modifier, and then divide by 2. If it is a decimal, round up.
Wrong order. Con mod after dividing by 2

Thanks for the help. I've been wondering about that since RAM told me what me last character's HP was, and I never bothered to find out how to get the correct number for my new character.

Bah, not tracking coin weight is laziness when the only coin changes occur before or after a session. If a DM can spend the time to create a world, I can spend the time tracking the weight of my coins. If you don't want that weight to apply, that's fine, but I'll still have it tracked in case you change your mind.

Besides, this.

Random thought for the Deer dude:

Oriental Adventures provided folks with the Hengeyokai race, which are akin to natural lycanthropes, but not of a cursed/diseased variety (they are animals who assume a stewardship role over communities, and can take on a humanoid or completely human form). They're have something like a natural Wildshape ability that allows them to assume one of three forms, gaining a stat bonus when in their hybrid form.

Just in case you might feel better using core material. It might also solve your Out-Of-Place appearance problem, since they can assume a completely human form when necessary. They were part of a 3.0 suppliment, but WotC released Errata that updated them to 3.5e here, which changed their type to Humanoid (shapechanger), and reduced their Level Adjust to +0.

Ciao!

So, it's been brought to my attention that, in the Tome of Battles, Swordsages apparently get x6 skill points at level 1 instead of the x4 skill points that every other class gets, and this wasn't even changed in the Errata for the book.

So, for anyone who wants to make a Swordsage in the future (they're a good physical class in general), you get only the x4 skill points at first level, because getting x6 skill points at first level makes no sense. It'd be a bit like giving wizards a bonus feat at level 1, but only if they take it at their first character level. Makes no goddamn sense.
(if we're going to be giving a class special benefits for taking it at character level 1, it would only make sense to do this for all of the classes... and that would be a fairly large change to the game in general. Besides which, Swordsages are great combatants and have enough skill points already, they don't need more)

P.S. No news yet on whether or not I'll be able to run the D&D game on Saturday. If it's messing up peoples' ability to plan stuff, we can just not run it anyway, so that people don't have to pick between a) possibly missing out on the session because they scheduled other stuff to do that day, or b) missing out on other stuff they could have done on Saturday because they planned to attend a D&D session that didn't happen.

I will show up if there is a game. If there is not a game, I will plan something else. Please decide soon.

Barbarossa, I think what he is saying is that he will not know until Saturday if he can or not, and that if it is inconvenient and nobody would show with a last minute announcement, he will commit to it being a no-go. He is checking to be sure it won't be like some of the previous times in the history of this thread.

I will be available if something happens. I will probably even check the thread several times on Saturday just in case. Of course I can't get Hamachi working without input. I tried the stuff on the front page, it's full. The 2nd one was never listed I think. If nothing happens I'll go back to my regularly scheduled boring Saturday.
