Hmm... now I just need to work out what I need to do having levelled up.

I've got the hp and weapon specialisation... but kindof lost otherwise.

The process for levelling up...

-pick the class you're taking your level up in
-either take the average (rounded up) of your HD, or roll it in-game
-if your next level is a multiple of 4, upgrade one of your ability scores by one
-if your next level is a multiple of 3, pick a feat
-increase your BAB and saves as appropriate
-allocate your skill points
-add your class features gained that level (if any)
-if you are a spellcaster or initiator, pick your spells/maneuvers

after all that's done, you'll probably have to update some of the other stuff on your sheet; for instance, the total attack bonus for when you use one of your weapons, or maybe your AC if you took Dodge or something...

your Base Attack Bonus depends on your class. For fighters, it is equal to your level. For wizards, it is considerably less.

The trip to the tomb was a waste of my time. There was no record of glory or bttle, only one foul necromancer. Despite my best efforts at interrogation, I was unable to get any information from him, so we lit him on fire for lying to us.

My companions are an uncouth bunch, as is to be expected of commoners, but some of them can be quite pleasant at times. I nearly forgot my vow not to look toward my companions in the wake of
the extremely unplesant interrogation. The gnome girl was not pleased, and did not accept my flimsy justifications. If nothing else, I should probably purchase another set of clothing. They were most discomfited by my attempts to preserve my ancestral ones.

Now they wish us to investigate a tribe of goblins. Goblins are pathetic creatures, but they are easily intimidated. Perhaps I can use them for my goals. They are, if nothing else, cheap. That said, they are altogether too disorganized for my needs. I need something I can control. Something I can rely on. SOmething almost mechanical.

There was shopping.
Journals are worth 100 experience points per character level you have.

Journal of Maelrigar Desraktu

The journey to the Tomb of the Wanderers was one full of violence and death, but at least I got a chance to remove one more blasphemer from the world. My compatriots regarded me with disgust when I offered to break his fingers one by one, as if they didn't know that spellcasters need their fingers to cast spells.

We cleared the tomb of skeletons fairly quickly, but we spent quite a bit of time preparing to interrogate the necromancer. For some reason Corina didn't put any clothes on, for fear that they would be ruined, but I guess the necromancer likes naked human women. I find them too frail, myself. Orc women can at least carry their own weight, but I digress. She started the interrogation by laying down next to the necromancer while I sat on him. We couldn't get anything out of him other than that he was both negligent and a liar, so I chopped his head off and we burned him. Did I mention I got a new sword? It's a bit bigger than my last, and much sharper.

Oh, the interrogation room was one that we found to the north of the altar room. There was this huge locked steel door, but we pulled so hard on the handle that we broke it off. I just crushed the hinges though, so the door fell down. The idiot gnome that showed up a few days ago pushed on the bottom, tipping the huge steel door towards us. I managed to deflect it to the left a bit, but they still got a nasty bonk. I threw the door to the side, and we found a set of treasure chests that held a shocking amount of loot.

Now I'm preparing for my journey to the goblin tribe to prove their innocence. Apparently the guards here think that all goblins are thieves, and all thieves are goblins. I swear that I will not spill a drop of blood unless I find actual evidence beyond the suspicions of a few humans.

The necromancer appears to be a dead end to many of my questions. First he had no consideration as to the soul's journey after death. Nor did he consider the nature of his skeletal raisings. When questioned about his ritual it was revealed that he to was a researcher, however his methods needed much refinement. He had no concept of hypothesizing a conclusion to his ritual, instead he blindly performed his ritual and expected to gather general notes and create a conclusion, a true amateur. To top this off he had lost his journal, the one place where his permanent notes are stored. It was quite pleasing to kill such a pathetic researcher.

I also discovered that many of my other travel group seem to have violent tendencies, I should be careful as to not fall unto their bad sides lest I should be endangered by something. Curiously, the vegetarian orc also seems to be the most violent of our group. Perhaps I was incorrect to believe that he was attempting to have a higher morality. Also, Finni and Corina seemed to have no issue with burning the necromancer to death. These people frighten me, should things continue this way I may have to consider my leave of the group.

Pay no attention to the last sentence, I won't leave, I'll just become more fearful... and paranoid.

Also, Maelrigar's journal is awesome with of how random it is.

The party seemed to be quite violent today, but I blame the necromancer. Surely you noticed that I vowed not to spill the blood of anything until I had proven the goblins innocent. Psychotic Good, but still good nonetheless.

The... The Necromancer died today. The laboratory was destroyed, the creations are undone, and the tomb is sealed.

We returned to the library and received a reward, a token to be redeemed for a magical trinket, I shall review the selection shortly. Those that accompanied the quest went about their business, selling what they had scavenged and celebrating their victory. I spent my time studying our patron's books, it was comforting. I fear that the others do not share the regard I feel for the written word...

I think it's hilarious that I thought Corina was some prostitute or something similar, though now I know she's (apparently) a noble.

Well, let's see here.

Maelrigar - A nice dude except when fighting evil folks that mess with dead people, in which case he gets incrediviolent.

Dr. Moon - An evil(?) Nerull worshiper that came along to study death.

Mysteller - A cleric of Procan that hasn't really done anything exceptionally good or bad yet, I'm thinking neutral.

Alrad - A typical ranger, probably a good guy.

Finni - A wheels-on-ducks retarded gnome with a penchant for murder and self destruction. Definitely evil, but more annoying than evil. I almost look forward to the inevitable conflict between Maelrigar and Finni, considering that both are sorcerers (I think), and Maelrigar could probably lay down the smackage.

Well, Alrad hung around in the forest killing people.  He probably wouldn't take too kindly to the necromancer releasing skeletons everywhere.

And I maintain the most useful thing to ask the necromancer would've been "How do we open this door without the risk of crushing ourselves?"
