So we using just maptools, or hamachi aswell?

edit: what time again too?

Dude, you can just look back at the previous posts... Monday 1:00 AM GMT, but I'll try to have the server up earlier so that people can get ready and stuff. Hamachi, I find, messes with my internet settings enough as it is (when I go to university it keeps trying to connect to the internet as if I'm at home, so I have to have Windows diagnose my connection and reset my IP address EVERY TIME), and besides that, it doesn't seem to help with network stability at all.

I'll try to do a hosting test at some point before the session, to make sure it's all working properly.

I am just giddy with anticipation over the first session, I am having serious trouble not spouting spoilers like crazy, but one of the potential encounters will pit you guys against a CR 6 enemy... that I fully expect you guys to beat, due to deliberate underpowering. Yay for good ol' Dwarf Fortressy fun!

From which monster manual?

Can't tell you that.  Good try though  ;D

well, it lacks the suol eating power of a barghest, but the glitterfire from page 92 of the MM3 is a possibility. It is an ooze formed from fireball and glitterdust spells. its slam attack deals 1d4+1 damage, and packs a 5d6, DC14H fire damage effect and a DC 13 blinding effect. If it engulfs you (DC14) then there is no save against the fire and blindness. Oh and blindsight and DR 10/magic...

What makes you think it is a Glitterfire?

It is CR6, deals 5d6 damage if it hits, and had DR 10/magic. Also, it can affect the entire party just by walking over them. It is the perfect encounter for a level 1 party!

Okay, session is scheduled to start in 40 minutes... as soon as I get this whole "configure your router for static IP address and allow port forwarding" thing down, I will host the session.

My backup plan for if I can't do it is to have someone else host as a player, and PM me the Game Master password.

Is there a Hamachi for it or are we just using Maptool's built in functions?

Hmm, I don't like Hamachi much, it'd be much simpler (and involve installing less stuff, for those who aren't in the Mercenaries game) for you guys if I could just set my router up right...

But then again, if it works it works, so I'll fire up Hamachi, and someone else who already has it can try and log on... network name is "Bay12 Western Marches", password is "none".

Any luck with maptools yet?

We're still using Maptools... Hamachi is a program that tricks your computer into thinking it's connected to mine on a local network.

My screen is centered upon a room that includes a table and numerous chairs, labeled the Library Room. It's pretty fantastic.

I'm on the network but MapTools isn't finding a local server. Any ideas?
