I concur. Wild Mass Smashing is much better when it hits.

If you use LA buyoff, does that not count towards your actual level?

What? What are you saying? I am not able to make sense of that sentence. No offense or anything meant.

Couldn't you separate potions to one side of a compartment in your backpack, and then scratch a certain pattern or a type of wax seal onto them? That way, all healing potions would have a bumpy seal, and the... I don't know, stamina potions, would be smooth. It would also be helpful if you put things most used above things on the bottom.

I do not believe that the stasis bag reduces weight, though I could be mistaken... It is primarily used to hold unstable samples for later analysis...

It weighs two pounds no matter what is in it.

The lack of sense doesn't surprise me, since I'm not sure why I originally thought that was a rational sentence now that I've reread it.

What I mean is, AARGH MYTH-WEAVERS IS BLACKED OUT FOR THE DAY.

Now that I've seen that, what I mean is that your guy is considered level three instead of level four because he used one level getting through his LA, right?

Uh. I think you might be right there, but I am not quite sure. Do you mind if I try to clarify?

My guy is not considered level three. My guy is level three. I had +1 LA, so when everyone was first level I could not exist, then when everyone was second level, I would have one class level and one LA, which would make me considered as a level two. Once everyone gets to level three I immediately lose 2000 exp but also lose my LA, thus I am counted as a level two again. Then everyone levels up to for (game starts) and I am counted as a level three and I have three levels. I no longer have any LA. It does not exist, and my guy is treated in every way as if I was always +0 LA but for some reason have 2000 less exp at some point.

You should have 4000 less exp Cript. You lost 1000 exp per ECL at level 4, so you're level 3 with 6000 exp. I'm also level 3, since I took the Dark template. After the first battle you should have 7350 exp.

EDIT: Oh. We're at 8350 exp. Thanks Cript.

Actually we are both wrong. It is class level and not ECL, which is how I am wrong, and the exp loss is ECL-1, which is how you are wrong.

So.

Yeah.

3k.

Not 2.

Not 4.

So, wait. If I hadn't gone with template class levels (and instead opted to start as a creature with a template that gives it a LA) I could be a lower level than four, gain exp as a person a lower level than four, and not have to spend precious, precious caster levels getting the full benefits of the template?

It depends, Once you get above +3 LA you can never pay it fully off. And it becomes progressively later in the game the more you have it. What template did you take? What creature would you have taken?

You would only be able to pay off a single LA from that. At level 16. For 15,000 exp. Also you would not even be able to start the game, because the starting level is four. It would need to be five to even start as that.

Edit: Also I am surprised you would take that. Huh.

The template class makes it far better. Also, what do you mean it would take until level 16 to pay off a single level of the LA? I thought you just had to be able to start with the LA payed off by the levels you get during character creation.
