Due to concerns expressed by certain people via PM, here is some clarification on scheduling...

I don't have a solid session time for each week. It's possible that I will within a month, but as of yet, session times are slightly arbitrary. I try to put the sessions on weekends, because that is when the most people are available to play, and also when I am the least brain-tired from school.
A side benefit to having the sessions at slightly different times each week is that people who cannot make it to certain time slots will still be able to participate, at least occasionally.

Our next session is scheduled for 9:00 PM GMT, Sunday Oct 24.

Sheet. Meet Tanky the Bird-Man.

Barebones, pretty badly written, Fluff:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I took a tiny little liberty with the setting, hope you don't mind too much.

Fantastic, someone else that can take a sword to the face and live to tell the tale.

I took a tiny little liberty with the setting, hope you don't mind too much.

I almost said "no, your story doesn't work because we don't know of any other floating islands, you'll have to change it." However, the Rule of Fun dictates that, because your story works quite well, is going to be largely inconsequential to the game (I hope), and is logically consistent (with itself and with my game world), my verdict is "works for me". I looked over your sheet, too, I didn't see any glaring flaws...

Also, it's not really an ether, it's just sky.

Also, game in... 5 hours, 13 minutes.

(I seem to preface my sentences with the word "also" a lot.)

I thought they were three hours from now? Oh well, I'll just compare the time of this post to that of Shoruke's and go from there.

EDIT: It's at 2:00 PM, Pacific Daylight Time. (GMT -7)

Just to check, I used some GMT calculators. 9:00 PM GMT is three hours from now. (minus 7 minutes) Also, I'll probably host the game a little early, so we can get connection issues and whatnot sorted out sooner rather than later.

It's currently 8:27 GMT.  Bear in mind that Britain is actually an hour ahead of GMT atm, since we're in daylight savings.

The session starts for realz in 30 minutes, but I've put the server up so people can connect whilst I go get food.

...How? I have none of the info that I need to connect to the server. And Hamachi is really shitty, and doesn't seem to work properly.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of how Hamachi works either... but it DOES work. For the most part.

Anyway, the info to connect is in the OP. The Hamachi group name is "Bay12 Western Marches", and the password is "none". Then you go on maptools, go to file -> connect to server, go to the "direct" tab, and use port 51234.

Although... for you in particular, your Hamachi status is "connecting", and it's been that way for a few minutes. I don't know why. Best advice I got... if you're on windows, try to have Windows Diagnose and Repair your network connection. Failing that, try restarting your computer; I don't know why, but that frequently solves my Hamachi issues.

Any change after restart?

I must ask, though, why we're bothering with Hamatchi at all. What exactly does using it give us?

Your connection status doesn't seem to have changed...
We use Hamachi because my router isn't able to do port forwarding, so this is the only way to have a "direct" connection.

EDIT: could it be that you have a different version of Hamachi from us (we have version 2.0.2.85)? Do you have a firewall configured that could be blocking you?

It could be version problems, as I'm on Mac, though if that's the latest version, there really shouldn't be any issue.

Unless LogMeIn are a bunch of twonkers.

For a short while there, it said you were online, but that you had chat disabled... if you can get to that point again and enable chat, we can probably figure the rest out.
