How extreme of a race could we potentially pick?
Just remember to look at level adjustments and racial hit dice. The former are at the end of the statblock; the latter are, where it says Hit Points, the dice denoted. If it's one or less, you can sub it for a class level; if it's more, you have to take them all. So, the extremeness is limited to HD+LA <= 3, with shoruke's approval.

As for roleplaying extremes we use to have a wyvern as a player for a session or two. That was WEIRD. I probably wouldn't go for monster classes just yet, so stick to humanoid creatures (which is a fairly broad suggestion).

Oh wow I am confused. :P That's all I'm saying.
I wish I had a physical copy of the books, peering at the SRDs on the screen just confuses me further!
So, any pointers on how to actually make my bugbear barbarian/ranger?

That is fairly balanced for a LA +1. As for it being weird, it isn't the weirdest we've had. We had the wyvern, a Gith from Limbo, and Pheron was a half deer person who thought they were human. Though we don't have the wyvern or Pheron anymore, so it would nice to have more weird races. Just wondering, but which book is that from? The font seems different.

It's completely custom, it's not from any book.

/tg/ did it all.

Do you need more?

Edit: Shoruke, do you have Frostburn? There's a modified (via homebrew) version of a prestige class in there that I want to use.

I hate to complain about something that was already modified, but the Master Specialist is SUPPOSED to be taken at level 4. The section under 'Becoming a Master Specialist' even suggests it. By taking this prestige class all familiar growth stops, and any class alternatives like shadow shaper are also stopped from advancing. It's meant to make the wizard less versatile and more school orientated instead of giving more metamagic feats and different familiar uses.

Ahhh, I think I'm beginning to understand... :) I've never really made a character myself before, so that's pretty confusing too. Well, if bugbears are above-power, I think I will try to be either a gnoll or goblin ranger.

Asides from technical advice, which is the main thing, how can I make my character fit into the campaign? What's the sort of back story we've got going? :P

There is a post about the world in the third topic post. I'd start there, but since then we have been signed on by the Library to map out the desert in the east which has never been explored, or at least recorded. While doing so we came across 2 strange purple orbs so far. It seems that a chaotic underworlder is trying to conquer the overworld by summoning monsters using these orbs. Some of that last bit is speculation, but whatever it still gives you an idea.

First, bugbears are only above-power until the starting level increases to 4. But a gnoll or something else works, too. If you want help creating, I'll be willing to help via PMs, IRC, or whatever. However, I'm not going to do so publicly due to the restrictions from the OGL.

For the character-campaign-backgroundy stuff, I can't help.

Edit: Ninja'd on the last one.

Alright well I'm just waiting for legit approval then, other then that I might need some help making the char for it, and I don't understand the 32 point buy thing in the first post, like 32gp? Or everyone gets 32 skill points? I don't know.

This better?

Spoiler: Vader's Choking Hand (click to show/hide)

Fun Fact: I cannot even use this spell, since I banned Evocation.

Edit: The point is for your ability scores. The higher you want them to be the more they cost. You can use this to distribute them.

Hidden in the OP under 'New to D&D?' is this link. There should be an option for point buy above the stat generating block. That is all you really need from that character generator since Mythweavers, or Tangled Web are that much cleaner. Oh, and don't add racial modifiers until you're done with the point buy. That messed up a few people.

EDIT: Theoboldi's Point Buy system looks better. Just leave it on human and add gnoll stat modifiers after.
