I didn't actually mean the time in the church but rather the the time after I left the session earlier. But if I can make the item anyway, I guess that's not important. Retcon was probably the wrong word. Sorry about the confusion.

Okay, the server is up, and I'm in going to start doing my pre-session bullschist before the session for once.

I would rather be playing TF2 right now (it just became free, so I figured I'd join now while there's an influx of other nublets), but here I am playing D&D instead. Do you see the tremendous sacrifices I make for you people? Finagle's Law dictates that too few people are going to show up anyway. Go ahead, prove the universe wrong, the goal is to have six players by 11:30 GMT.

Yesterday night I woke up to a long scaly creature without any limbs coiled about a foot away from my head.  It looked a bit like a dragon, however it didn't seem to be sentient, and was in fact a bit cute.  I reached over to pet it like I had pet Lyca and Lucky; It didn't seem to like that and attempted to bite me with some truly amazing fangs.  I was too quick for the creature however, and simply grasped it's neck (or it's body very close to the head).  The creature got very angry and started writhing about, and I briefly entertained the thought of keeping it as a pet like the wizards and druids. I decided against it as I was going to get a horse in Eriden; a horse probably wouldn't be able to grasp it by neck so quickly.  I threw the creature over a nearby sand dune, then began packing up my meager camp.  I left at a jog towards Eriden through the nights fog.
 
During my second rest period I found a small red beetle with black markings and some glowy fangs.  I think it's called a lady bug.  Disappointed about losing the scaly creature as a pet I decided that this wouldn't hurt a horse and decided to carry the beetle along with me.  I named it Warhammer.

Just before sunrise I arrived at Eriden.  I was greeted by a illusionary gate warden whom I warned about a insane dwarf child chasing me.  He let me in with little fuss and I went wandering around for awhile.  I then found a guard and asked him about a stable for horses and he looked at me like I was a githyanki and said they only have camels and mules; horses just cost too much.  I angrily had him lead me to mercenary recruitment.  The recruiter seemed annoyed I hadn't just talked to the gate warden.  After that I headed down to the docks to check for Bote. 

Unsurprisingly I couldn't find Bote among the hundreds of other ships.  I opted to just find an inn or something.  I wandered into a pub and asked about a 'Bote'.  Some patrons said there had been a lightweight monk in there yesterday who said he was from Bote.  Before I could get any information however the bartender told me to buy something or get out.  I bought a mug of a brownish fluid and began drinking the disgusting stuff.  I asked a sailor about where the monk had gone, but he kept launching into old stories about when he fought pirates off his favorite goat.  I had to keep buying more ale so I could have more time to convince the man to tell me where Bote was, eventually he told me where a boat owned by a fighting deer was.

Before I could leave I was challenged by a halfling to a game of darts.  I could tell he thought I would be drunk and lose all my money on bets.  Turns out I'm good at darts.  I won back all the money I had spent on ale and left before he could get a dagger out and stab me.  Sadly, once I got to the place the sailor had directed me I discovered a ship called 'The Knightly Dear'.  Goddamn sailors.  I walked off to find a nice place to sleep, and hid in a park.  My sleep was interrupted once by a group pf wizards summoning something a ways away, but other than that I slept well.  Sadly, this morning I have a really bad headache.  Goddamn sailors.  And I seem to have lost Warhammer D:

Today we went to a church of Boccob. It wasn’t at all what I thought it would be like. I imagined a vast library, with those long magic scrolls and what not, but I was disappointed to find neither of these things. Leaving the church I decided to find a temple of St. Cuthbert, but once again I failed to find what I was expecting as I could not find such a temple. Thoroughly saddened I returned to the church of Boccob to find that Saxon had gotten himself in trouble AGAIN. He was being held in place by a rather threatening cleric.

The cleric stood there all in black, raising one hand in the air to cast a spell that may very well damn Saxon to death. After a rather lengthy chant he had failed to do anything at all. The cleric looked down in sadness as if to say ‘OK...’. When I inquired as to of why Saxon was being held, I was told that he had attempted to steal a potion from the church’s alchemy lab. I in truth didn’t find this shocking, but with a new found faith I find that his kleptomania may lead to problems. I will need to discuss his problem further with him. Kenneth, a fellow law-defender volunteered to free Saxon from his predicament with the use of money.

After we left the church we ended up discussing of how the church was mysteriously unlike anything that Boccob would have wanted in his church. We continued discussing this until I noticed that we were missing one person. I returned to the church only to find that Kimiko had snuck into the church to investigate the backroom, what a curious character. She was quickly found out and was sent out of the room. Thankfully the news of the rather ordinary backroom calmed many suspicions about the church. We talked of the damage that the church’s altar had received. With all this damage perhaps someone ought to donate to their church.

We returned to the hotel only to find the military’s one and only Brigadier General Wallace looking for us. There was a group of wizards that required protection from a magic gate they had to open for materials. The pay was quite nice, so the others simply jumped at the idea. For me however I would rather defend the others at no cost. We followed the General to the wizards who were already in a small circle ready to summon their materials.

It was then a great gate of fire appeared and opened onto our world. The heat was intense, and small humanoid fireballs were flung from the gate. They seemed rather surprised that we were rushing to defend the wizards by knocking them out, but within the first 12 seconds they were done fighting. Speaking to us we learned that they were just civilians that were at a cafe, when they were pulled from their chairs. It appears that the wizards were simply after the coffee pot that they took coffee from. I had no idea that a fiery coffee could be so coveted by wizards The strange fireballs wrote something, and left. I am rather angry at the wizards for taking such risky actions when involving civilians. Thankfully no one was hurt, but if this happens again then the wizards will have to pay for their misdeeds.

There's nothing stopping you from grabbing a gauntlet and smacking someone repeatedly in the throat, though.

Or you could always take the Throat Punch feat, which involves taking 5 levels in rogue (or ninja) and multiclassing with Monk... it does less sneak attack damage, but gives spellcasters a 50% failure chance with most spells.

The perfect crime scene: The altar's top-secret hatch is open, the artifact amulet Preserver gone. There aren't even fingerprints! In other news, Preserver has received the temporary designation Plot Coupon, which means that if the person holding it doesn't show up to a session, it will temporarily appear in someone else's inventory.

Journals! You need to get some exp out of this session! Hopefully the next one is more exciting. It should be, since the only thing you guys have planned is to do the mission thing, which is... bah, can't tell you. Oh well, you should be able to make some guesses and use your last in-game day for prep.

My mistrust of the necromancer Raspul has proven itself misplaced. He is quite apt with alchemical and botanical lore, and assisted me in preparing my soporific flasks. It appears that the dyer's fucus can be substituted easily with a type of iodine powder available in the local arcane reagent shop. Later, in a show of trust, he presented a mummified hand which he wished to enchant with telekinetic magic. Morbid, but interesting.

Mysteller and Maelrigar have been brought in on the plan to enter the temple through stealth, but none of the others have been told. They would only manage to get themselves caught again. Myesteller located a secret compartment within the altar's plinth. Though our efforts were twice frustrated by the temple's security, on the third night we managed to acquire our prize, by opening a hole in the wall and having an unseen servant slip through with the amulet, closing the opening behind us.

The amulet is one of sapphire, known as Preserver, and is said to heal the wounded as they sleep, grant great wisdom and fortify the will. Mysteller wanted to return it, for reasons that made no sense to me. Maelrigar wanted me to take the blame, should we be caught with the amulet. In the end, though, they did agree that we should take it and make a proper use of so potent a gift, rather than let it sit mouldering in a temple, unable to do any good to anyone.

Guess what journal? Something horrible happened. Which is to say, nothing happened-that's the horrible part. Other than some amusing clouds. The worst thing beside from dying is being BORED.

I got the feeling someone was having fun without me. Then again, I always feel that way. It's a Halfling thing.

I mostly played with lucky, and practiced flipping one of my new coins. It had a scratch on the Kings face, which I guess means it's a good coin. I won't spend that one.

Things should get better soon, or maybe I'll start taking that bard crack I made to that priest of Boccob seriously. I would make a good bard, stop laughing journal!

And, um...well...thats it. Should I ramble? Rambling in journals is perferable to rambling in public.

I couldn't really sleep tonight-that feeling again, of being on the outside-so I stayed up late. I think I saw some of our party members sneak in late at night. I wonder what they were up to? And why didn't they let Andre come! I'm as stealthy as an ox, my mom used to say. Now that I think of it, that was probably an insult.

Got a message from...an old friend. She says she got into some trouble. Thinking I can help. It's been a long time. Going to sleep now.
