Let's see...
Same damage as the Halo 1 pistol.
Not as accurate.
Faster fire rate.
Smaller clip. I count three differences.

So you fire faster, meaning you can do more damage per second, but you have a smaller clip which means you have to reload faster, limiting your damage per second... As I said, basically cancelling each other out.

And the accuraccy seems to be about the same to be honest, you can still snipe people across a medium sized level with ease as long as you dont just hammer the trigger as fast as you can.

Even so, the point I'm making is that it's basically the same gun as the halo 1 pistol. Which I'm pretty sure I said? It looks the same, is designed to fit the exact same role, is used the same, has the same abilities, etc. It's the same gun.

Essentially.  But at least there's reticule bloom now, in Halo 1 if you pulled the trigger three times per second all three would go in the same place as long as you weren't holding the thing down.

I just realized something else.  Halo has really memorable atmosphere.  As generic as all the parts are, they're put together in a memorable way.  The main menus for instance are prime examples.

The melancholy yet epic music alone really stands out, but the combination with the visuals of the ring in the first game and a filtered scene of desolation in the second 2 really just makes for a really affecting scene.  Even though the game itself is really heavily over rated part of that is due to it's own success in presentation.  The game makes itself feel a lot deeper than it is.

The "not as accurate" part of the new Magnum is important, remember they were accurate to the pixel in Halo 1, meaning with a steady hand you were as good as a sniper.

I agree, the atmosphere of the games is really good. Each game has their own atmosphere, each time unique, and at the right moments so as to give the players more of the story in the right way. I don't think Halo would be as successful as it is now if it wasn't for the correct atmospheres at the right moments.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Agreed. But that is in part to Bungie just being that good. The FPS isn't a new concept; none of the weapons in-game are truly unique. Bungie does such a good job at the story, and balancing the weapons, that the game is just that good.

Who did Bungie sign a contract with now?
I forget.
Although we do know that the Halo series was given to that 343 Industries, let's see what happens.

Of course, the games would be horrible with Activision.

But hey, at least they didn't get Valve to sign a contract.
