Man, what? I'm confused. Halo hasn't even been out for a decade, much less ten times that. It's still got a bit more than a year before it hits the decade mark, anyway.

P.S. Sorry for the grammar. I don't claim to be perfect myself, but the blatant stuff hurts my eyes.

EDIT: Re: The actual topic. I haven't played it myself, but one of my room mates has been playing close to bloody non-stop since the game hit stores in the area a few weeks ago. Only thing I've really noticed about it was the jetpack. Between Halo and Firefall (and presumably Duke Nukem), I can't help but wonder if the spirit of Tribes is going to infest the next generation or so of FPS titles. Can't say it would be a bad thing, really, for all that it'll be probably a decade before I get around to playing any of that junk.

Bullshit, plenty of the weapons are unbalanced, plenty of the vehicles are worth shit, plenty of the armor abilities are worthless.
Second, when riled up, the community can be very annoying. Very, annoying.
Lastly, meleeing is spammed repeatedly. Which gets annoying when you have a few good weapons or you're on a streak.

And the brutes are bullet sponges.
The grunts are smaller sponges.
Jackal shields are annoying.
Skirmishers are fine.
Elites without explosives are fine.
Revenants are horror.

And I am sure there are other games Xbox is known for.
I'm talking about the multiplayer not the single player, and by balanced i mean everything can be beaten by something else, If someones in a banshee no problem get a rocket launcher or a plasma launcher and boom there dead, someone's in a scorpion just run up to them so they can't shoot you can hijack the tank.

I think melee is pretty fair if you know the proper way to combat it.

TIP:NEVER melee you opponent unless their shield are down for a 1 melee kill. Most people go for a 2 melee hit and during their 1st melee (which knocks out your shields) there's a delay where you can't attack for a while and then you finish getting their shield down and then you punch them in the face.

I just rounded it off. A century and better than 9 years what ever months and days. Also yes there was other games that got xbox on the right foot but halo combat evolved was the best seller for the xbox back then. Other games like gears of war helped too but it was halo's multiplayer and graphics that got everyone spreading the word about xbox.

Active Camo? You can't run with it anymore, just crouchwalk and stand still.
Sprint? It's just sprinting.
Evade? Actually somewhat useful.
Armor Lock? Only useful in when with a group or about to be splattered.
Jetpack? You'll get sniped, brother.
Holograms? It's easy to tell, ones running forward, you're fighting.

DMR? Way too much damage.
Plasma weapons? Only useful when you need shields dead now.
Focus rifle? Takes a wee bit too long to kill someone.
Rocket Launcher? Can't target vehicles, brother.
Fuel Rod? Same as above, and they're pretty much useful only in midrange.
Needle Rifle? Same as DMR.
Needler? Same.
Assault rifle? SMG Stand in.
Sniper? Not much bad.
Magnum? Not as accurate.
Players? They bloody try to trash talk me all the time for some reason. Even when I'm clearly not trying to say anything or when I'm doing well.

Also you mentioned graphics. How dare you.

Just made a few comments.

Active Camo? You can't run with it anymore, just crouchwalk and stand still.- its a tactical weapon, scrambles your opponents radar but not your teammates. Also you can camp behind a door with this( hate those damn campers)
Sprint? It's just sprinting.- exactly, gets you places quickly and you can't take fall damage if you land with sprint on.
Evade? Actually somewhat useful.- so annoying when someone turns abilities on unlimited.
Armor Lock? Only useful in when with a group or about to be splattered.- buys your teammates time to flank the enemy or just save your ass for a few seconds hoping a teammate come in to save you.
Jetpack? You'll get sniped, brother.- thats a disadvantage but you can go to places people wont expect you to and it a decent getaway tool in not so open areas.

DMR? Way too much damage.- 7 rounds to kill someone with out head shot but you need semi good timing which doesn't really help.
Plasma weapons? Only useful when you need shields dead now.- A fully charged plasma pistol will knock down a guys shields and the go in for the melee or a head shot so yes very useful for getting the shields down.
Focus rifle? Takes a wee bit too long to kill someone.- 1.5 seconds with a good aim
Rocket Launcher? Can't target vehicles, brother.- it can target flying vehicles which helps.
Fuel Rod? Same as above, and they're pretty much useful only in midrange.- it can bounce of stuff in the 1st few meters and you don't have to reload as much
Needle Rifle? Same as DMR.- much weaker than the DMR but it has more bullets.
Needler? Same.- overpowered i reckon but countered with the lack of ammunition it can hold.
Assault rifle? SMG Stand in.- I think its pretty weak, that's like a whole round up close to kill someone also no recoil.
Sniper? Not much bad.- agreed
Magnum? Not as accurate.- you gotta time you shots and it can be a decent primary weapon when you got nothing else

*coughPChackcough* Anyway, your "More You Know! *rainbow*" for the day: A year is 365 days (Except on leap year!), or a full orbit of the Earth around the Sun. A decade is ten years. A century is one hundred years. A millennium is one thousand year. There's more after that, but they tend to be fuzzy in general use (Epoch, Eon, etc.). Halo has not been around for even approaching a century. Microsoft hasn't been around a century. Electronic computers smaller than a large room haven't been around a full hundred years yet. Moral of the story: Please don't tell people Halo has been around a century. That's very, very mistaken and makes everyone involved look silly.

Halo's been around for almost a decade. It's still got a year and just shy of two months to go. I'll give that it was pretty big for getting the Xbox off the ground -- that's important. I'd almost say that's a shame, though. Always sucks to see a particular entertainment device get largely stuck on a particular genre. S'kinda' like a TV that only manages to show spaghetti westerns. The westerns aren't bad, but I want my old school Kung-fu flick occasionally, yanno?

Anyway, off-topic, etc, etc. Reach seems pretty solid for your more-or-less-bog-standard next-gen FPS shooter. Solid experience from what I've been observing, if not even remotely enough to get me to even consider buying a Xbox 360.

Yeah, there isn't really a Uber-weapon like the Pistol from Halo 1; even the fucking tanks can get their cannons shot off now.

Back on stuff about Halo Reach, I just had an assassination in campaign where my Spartan (who is female, don't judge me) basically tackled an Elite full on in the face and stabbed it in the eye.  It looked a little inappropriate but then I realized it was actually awesome.

You know, me and this guy went on a doubles arena fight right?
He's a friend of mine, and we coordinate well. To counter the opponents choice to use jetpacks, (Or being Air Troopers as we call them.), we use our own jetpacks. My friend was in trouble and was surrounded by the enemy team.
I assassinate one of them, and while the other one was distracted, his guy pretty much ran forward, stabbed the other enemy several times, and the body fell off a cliff.
The whole match was glorious.

Ah yes me and 3 of my mates found that out during a FFA match i made in forge. We all cracked up laughing. Also the same thing with a wraith and the rocket warthog. I found this out in forge with a land mine and placing any vehicles onto it while holding the vehicle so it doesn't take any damage but the bits still fly out.

I was really surprised when the cannon got shot off my tank. I got in it and was like OH YEAH, LETS DO THIS SHIT! Then I got spartan lasered, and even though I survived, my poor tank was useless.

This is kinda funny, because the entire game is basically halo 1 again, and the pistol is exactly the same as the one from halo 1. :P

This is kinda funny, because the entire game is basically halo 1 again, and the pistol is exactly the same as the one from halo 1. :P
No it isn't. It shoots faster and has a smaller clip, IIRC.

So there are a couple of small differences? It's still basically the same gun. Surely having a faster fire rate and a smaller clip kind of balance each other out?
