Played through the first six missions with my mate today. It actually feels fairly different from the other Halos to me. Tonnes of weapons have changed significantly enough, or been replaced entirely, and most enemies have been redesigned- unfortunately to the grey-brown style so common nowadays. The NOBLE team don't even look particularly iconic as Spartans. I do hate how Bungie keep changing the control scheme, though.

Perhaps a sort of Battlefield: Halo is in order?

I mean, it's in the fluff that Humanity can match the Covenant on the ground.

Yeah, that'd be fun. It'd be cool if you could control a squad of Unggoy if you play as an Elite.

In my opinion the levels are not as large, complex, or long as they should be.
Halo 1 still holds the golden standard in this, though I'm probably just butthurt about not having enough cash to shell out for xbox gold.
also i have more important games to play.

If not... maybe you could be an Elite Sniper, or maybe a Jackal.

Or even a higher ranked Elite leading a squad of other Elites.

To see the jetpacks of course.

Anyway I played the beta, I like what they did with the balance, although I feel the jetpacks are still very dependent on level design, they're not quite as go-anywhere as, say, tribes. I know it's stupid to compare it unfairly to a much older and different game but I wish devs would just man up and copy the damn jetpacks if they want to.

Forge I'm not super psyched for, since I've used real devkit-level stuff (NWN editor, BF2 editor, Elder Scrolls editor, etc) but now that it can do decent stuff, and do it quickly (all editors are a bitch at some point or another) it shouldn't be hard to have some fun with it. Now if we could just import .3DS files...

Ever since Halo 2?

They've been doing this since Halo 2, if they made this leap into non-standard view range because of a few bugs and flying Shengheli, then I'm kinda questioning their design ideology.

What? Several guys on the hall have this game, and I was just kicking ass in the splitscreen campaign mode.  Reach is amazing.  Don't bother comparing it to the new ones, everything we loved about the first one is back, plus better graphics.  Non-regenerating health, the pistol.  Plus, now we have awesome armor abilities, and grenade launchers.  Focus rifles suck.

▼I'm playing for the story.  Also SPACE MAREENS.
