Shells from Turtle Stew?

I know that when you cook plants you do not get any seeds from them, but what about the shell-yielding species like turtles and mussels?  If you make turtle stew, do you get a shell out of it?

If I remember correctly in DF 2010 the shell gets removed by preparing the mussel/turtle in the fishery workshop...
so as long as you donīt cook the raw mussel/turtle but only the prepared one/s you should get shells out of them
