I make statues out of it personally, since it's so high value.

Other platinum furniture (Platinum thrones, cabinets and the like) for your nobles or your dining hall is also a good idea

Genesis mod adds platinum warhammers, which outclass every other metal for them.

Other than that, statues and trade goods, statues and trade goods everywhere.

It's magma safe... makes for great furniture in rooms you plan to put through the occasional wash/rinse cycle with magma to clear garbage.

Unless your dwarfs make an artifact out of it.

It's best use? Getting moody weaponsmiths to make artifact platinum whips

I make my wells out of it. All bits platinum--- block, mechanism, chain, bucket. Great for dwarven morale. Next best thing to having an artificat bucket and chain in the well.

What is this, a therapy session? We don't need to console someone because they're upset about a fucking video game. Grow a beard, son, and take off those elf ears!

I had that in one of my fortresses. It didn't matter how unhappy a dwarf was BEFORE he went to the well, he was VERY happy afterward.

And the artifact chain was engraved with images of a legendary goblin leader drowning in that fortress. I had caught the bugger in a cage trap and drowned him in a drowning chamber. Absolutely loved that--- every time my dwarves got water, they drowned him again.

I export cloth. Endless cloth bins.

 :D

Of course I soon get bored of this and simply order all cloth that is not masterwork to be chucked into the volcano. I usually can't be arsed to bother with the caravans most of the time, since they usually only bring garbage. I don't even like killing the caravans because they leave so much garbage behind. I just want them to never show up in the first place. The only useful thing they provide are gems, which I use to endlessly encrust the same couple of items, again and again, with every possible type of gem.

Fighting cloth with cloth.... wait what?
Take that elves.

But yeah I also like to endlessly encrust everything, especially my dining room furniture. I had a full set of masterwork rose gold tables and chairs awhile back worth like 10k each, cause of the gems encrusted on them. My dining room would've been multi-legendary.
