My militia commander who was a proficient spearsdwarf but complete with all adamantine gear and a legendary artifact adamantine shield killed a forgotten beast in single combat as it tried to ascend the stairs to my fortress. Now you may say "he was decked with adamantine" but the forgotten beast WAS A DRAGON MADE OF FLAMES nonetheless my militia commander proceeded to catch on fire then cut the beast in half!

I'm not familiar with what type of material fire falls under, but IIRC, creatures made of any gaseous like material tend to be easy to kill. Though fire? I've never gotten that before...

Yeah, I'm going to bet he just swung his spear and the thing parted like paper, because fire isn't actually noted for being unbreakable

One forgotten beast that was similarly not made out of a solid was killed by a kitten; it would appear that if the material of the beast isn't a physical item (like say fire) it is fragile as hell.

Well Gods praise his name the dragon wasnt just made of flame it exploded into flames... He died shortly after dismembering the dragon made of flames as he was caught on fire 4 times during the battle

Their attacks usually glance off of normal clothing from what I have seen.
