Because I don't like generic, and it occurs to me that I've not been on the board very long, does anyone have a full 14 they'd like to suggest?

Vector, Solifuge, ChairmanPoo, MaximumZero (previously mentioned)
Blacken and ToonyMan (computing + electronics)
Tack (farming)
Aqizzar and Duke (knowledge of politics and ability to keep people in line)
Renault (anyone who weighs 95 pounds and is working security has my respect.  Also, economics)
CobaltKobold (extensive knowledge of philosophy and various other fields, which implies that she should be helpful when it comes to innovation.  Plus, we get along well)
Armok and Webadict (intelligence and differing opinion)
Blargityblargh (he was the one working out the logistics of the B12 commune, and seemed to be rather good at large-scale planning.  We need a leader, after all)

My idea is that if you throw enough brains at it, you might be able to get somewhere.  I'd replace some names on the list if I knew anyone who was strong in mechanical engineering, biology, or general building stuff.

Also ceramics and leather-working.  Hm.

Neruz was probably a guy.

Hawkfrost and Jackrabbit are guys

Why would...

Okaaaay. Yes. I am male.

Anyway, I'm pleased to see only a few people decided to take me, proving that I am in fact funny but useless, just where I want to be.

I'd probably be able to craft sigs out of coconuts, though.

Miswrote "Jack_Bread".  Sorry.

Also, I'm too young to be specialised at anything.  Can't this theoretical disaster wait another 5 years or so :P.

I suck with ceramics, so don't put my name in the hat for that.

I am good at general building stuff, so long as I have explicit, to the detail directions.

I am completely useless, but one person took me.  I'm happy.

I can only assume that the sordid fantasies aspect was a key part in securing a place in the ship

Ok. I'd like to state that 'farming' doesn't mean that my entire list of jobs includes standing around with a rake and shovel and speaking with a 'hyuk' to my accent.

Aussies don't 'hyuk', by the way.

Honestly I think I'd prefer solitude over anyone on this forum except for Momaw, and he's only on the IRC.

So yeah. Momaw, his SO, and my wife. So long as we're off that island in two generations, alls well.

It's not like you have to have kids while you're on the island.   I mean, jeez, unless you're breeding them for food it's just a bad idea.

Contraceptives scarcity might force your hand on that aspect of island life.

I want my kids to learn to picket logs by the age of six!

Actually, on second thought, I'd swap Webby out for Itnetlolor.  His thought experiments and inventiveness would prove helpful.

Ok. I'd like to state that 'farming' doesn't mean that my entire list of jobs includes standing around with a rake and shovel and speaking with a 'hyuk' to my accent.

No, what it means is that you're fit, know something about animal domestication, are disciplined, can work long hours of hard work, and can probably identify at least some edible plants.  You also probably know way more than I do about cultivation in general.

Those all sound like brilliantly useful qualities to me.

Guys, the key is in living off your parents until you can live off your children.
