Cave Adaptation
« on: September 12, 2010, 10:32:06 pm »

I was just thinking, shouldn't all subterranean creatures get Cave Adaptation? I mean, they have been living in the caverns for untold generations, hidden from the sun since the world began. You think that they would at least be nauseated by being exposed the endless void of the sky and the relentless light of the dreaded Daystar. It just doesn't make any sense that creatures that have evolved for subterranean life don't become adapted to caves.

i read this and i think...

a "cave adapted" perk bound to some creatures in the scripts

all normal creatures can become "cave adapted" if left in a cave too long

some exceptions for demons perhaps?

I can't really see a magma man puking as he walks out into the sunlight.

He throws up magma, which alights the entire aboveground.

Within reason, I would guess. I mean, surely sunlight would have some affect on subterranean creatures. Maybe not elementals, though.

Anything that is normal biological physiology (not elementals), living (not undead), and normal vision (not blind) should have cave adaptation.

Things that fit the above and have spent generations underground should have a more extreme version of cave adaptation.

Actually blind things would have issues within the aboveground as well, due to heat from the sun, unfamiliar surroundings, other such varities.

Okay I'm now in favor of this.

Yes this makes sense maybe just adding a tag to creatues "cave-addapted" and "cave-addapting" this first one makes creature have cave addaption and the seccond one make creature get cave addeption.
