Questionable effectiveness is no reason not to have them. There have been enough questionable weapons, and some that were of more psychological than tangible value.P I could imagine goblin leaders/enforcers wielding them as a sign of authority for one thong. The bit that interests me most is how we'd properly simulate them.

The way I see it is that a hit with a flexible weapon should not have the weight of the entire weapon behind it. Only the very tip moves at high speed and the rest of the rest doesn't add to the momentum as it would in a rigid weapon. Ideally, this type of weapon would have 2 size entries, the current one for lugging it around and a much smaller one for striking.
; as it is just use the latter. If anyone has another suggestion to model them better rather than a quick and dirty fix, I'd like to hear about it.
