Weirdest demands?

So my fortress is coming up on its tenth year, and so far, not a single noble had made a demand. It was getting to the point I wondered if demands weren't maybe bugged. But today, out of the blue, suddenly my mayor makes a demand: He needs a bed in his dining room.

...yes, you heard me. A bed in his dining room. For what purpose, exactly? Does he plan to recline while eating like a Roman? Is it just in case that big stuffed elk bird has a bit too much tryptophan in it and he gets a case of the sleeps? Is he... ahem... up to some nefarious purpose with the Fishdwarf's wife?

Why would you ever need a bed in the dining room?

Anyone else want to share bizarre demands?

I always chuckle when I see a demand for a window in a room which is underground.

"Item in bedroom" I never was able to figure out what it meant.... I tryed throwing everything I could in there, statues, more armor/weapon racks, another table, a chest. Nothing worked.

Up to now I had only pèroduction requests.

What happens when you fail to satisfy an "item in a room" request? Every haulers in the fortress will be sent to jail?  :o
