I was actually referring to the geometric notion of an abstract surface without a width or curvature and of infinite dimensions otherwise. (EDIT: After a re-read, I realise that you also realised this. I maintain that it would be a bad idea.) But there is also a German river named Plane... and a type of tree commonly known as plane... and playing on glass versions of these might also be a bad idea.

Urist - I have a feeling that such a game would end very quickly. Perhaps multiple sheets, with a reasonable gap between them, could be employed to lengthen the time of each match.

Imagine a combination of power goals 44 and 45: The ruler convenes a council of the nobles to appoint you the high priest of the nearby towns. Instead of waiting for them to finish their drinking session, you walk in and crush a goblet while berating their disgusting behaviour and general incompetence.

By a few seconds, maybe.

I've gotta say, you've got some big ones to do a strategy like that Turkey. Even as a yeti.

But oh my crap if someone doesn't stop you next round it's gonna be a meatgrinder...

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Heck, I already took down a yeti.  My build worked out exactly the way I wanted it to, and I hope it stays good.

Mine did that too.  It makes me wonder why that never works in adventurer mode...maybe it has to do with the platinum bit.  ;D  If  I win again, I will have to save a lot of points...

Bah, I hoped that I would fight someone with little or no armour at all. I would then have 300 points and I could have bought myself adamantine battleaxe and some axeyeti skill..

I propose a truly dorfy solution: toady should implement a special helmet that (mostly) protects against fall damage, so that the toughest dwarves of the fortress can take the 10-z level jump down, pick and axe in hand, and construct stairs back up to the upper levels.

In three test fights, Ostsnottusnung won two.  In the third, Xenos blocked 8 attacks and pummelled the yeti into submission.  In the fourth fight, I accidentally gave the yeti no equipment or skills - but he still killed the goblin after 11 pages of facial gouging.

*Blinks*

WOO NEW DF UPDATE....

*Blinks*

Wait... it is an odd version, and has combat changes...

I'm going to hold off on updating until Toady fixes the game ruining bugs that are bound to be present. And since this update is all adventurer and combat changes, arena mode WILL be messed up with the rest of it...
