My name is Elegy, and I am a new poster here. I was into DF the past few years, but recently (about three months ago) I stumbled upon the forum, and how interesting it is. I've been lurking actively for a while now, but I figure I might as well try to assimilate.

It's nice to meet all of you. I hope we can be a friend.

Hello, the Upper Forums are where we argue about DF stuff, and the Lower Forums are where we just argue.

When there's nothing to argue about, we get along well. We also have an IRC and a Steam group

I'm well aware of the split between the throbbing masses in the upper forums and the cult of personality based lower forums. Judging by the various thread titles of the Life Advice forum, it seems ike it would do a soul well to steer clear of there. Unless of course, one enjoys the stinging lash of the silver tongue that is so frequently employed by many of the members here.

And it's very nice to meet you all, as well.

Nah, Life Advice can be quite useful.  You just have to know how to word things, and be able to take advice.

A sense of humor is also a good thing to have.
