At $10, this is a great deal. Even if you don't get a ton of mileage out of Blood Bowl, there's the MP competition leagues. Compared to what you normally get for $10, this is an absolute steal.

It's based off a table top game. So your enjoyment of it ultimately will be based on that. I think for $10, it's a great buy, especially if you have friends that enjoy it. But make no mistake, it's a faithful adaptation of a GWS board game. I think many of its poor reviews came from the fact people over looked that, or had no clue what it was to begin with. For $10, you could do a whole lot worse.

It's an interesting game at least. Still figuring out how the mechanics work. I'm definitely a bit pissed about my orc team losing out to those damn skaven. How the hell do they manage to both dodge all of my tacklers and knock out my linemen? Damn it!

Still, 10$ was a pretty good price for this game. I don't think I'd pay more, but it's good as it is.

Alright, it appears my graphics card should probably work with this. I'll look into the game more tomorrow before deciding whether or not to get it.

When the AI plays Skaven, it pretty much ignores tackle zones. Plan for that when you're trying to form your line. Beat gutter runners to a pulp as soon as you can, sic your Black Orks on them. The AI doesn't make decisions like many human players would, it tends to do very risky stuff that actually pays off...like dodging through two tackles zones to do a long bomb, which is actually caught and then scored by the receiving player.

My integrated Radeon HD 3200 had no problems running the game at lowest possible options. If you have anything better than that, should be a smooth experience.

Bear in mind, though, that game is HARD .

I played Blood Bowl for a few days.  I remember by the end of it I was just playing to kill the enemy players for all the torment they put me through.

The game is obscenely hard, and the dice hate you.

They're probably putting the game on sale because the Legendary Edition is coming out later this year with 20 of the 21 official teams (apparently chaos dwarves are hard to model) and a handful of other improvements.

For those of you struggling with the rules, the rulebook (which the game follows in excruciating detail) is freely distributed by Games Workshop and may be found here. The numbering is a bit odd because they basically hacked out all the nonessential content but didn't renumber the pages, but it's still pretty readable. Most of the really essential information is in the first 10 (14) pages of the pdf, but you should probably keep reading after that to get a better idea of how the advanced mechanics play out.

Hmm!  Can you guess at how much the Legendary Edition will retail for?  How many teams does the current one have?  And maybe most importantly, will the current version still have players for long?

Man that's bullshit. That's the last time I trust Cyanide on anything. Not only did they have a terrible distribution, they basically took a shit on all the fans who supported BB's release. For $10 I can't complain, but if I had bought the game at retail price, I'd be freaking pissed.
