Let your friend cook/take meth, it's his/her life not yours.

Fixed.
Huesoo, why the hell are you obsessed with drugs?

He's saying that letting your friend stay in a cult is as destructive as letting your friend do meth.

Not really, unless the cult also involves taking meth. Or elder gods.

I'm with Euld here, this "cult" doesn't look like much of a cult at all.

Cults aren't inherently destructive or dangerous.

Hell, Christianity started as a cult, under the proper definition.

And most of its early members were persecuted and killed and...

Okay, shit. That does seem a bit more harmful than meth.

See, the cult isn't harmful. The people who overreact to the cult are dangerous.

Like you guys are.

Yeah, I'm with forsaken on this one.

Yes, this is a cult.

No, it's probably not going to end badly. I hope.

Okay, I'm actually going to try to HELP unlike some other people.

*glares at the trolls*

First, I've heard of Bike Pointe Ministries. As far as I can tell, it's just a group of Christians who refurbish bikes as a means to witness to others. Doesn't seem to be anything hinky going on with them. It looks like the site is just one dude, by the way, who is a born-again.

FinalCall07, the user that made the video you posted, seems a bit off though. His site is no longer up, and I can't find any further information on him or his ministry. However, he strikes me as another born-again.

OP, you may not realize this, but born-again Christians do tend to exhibit behaviors similar to those of people being brainwashed by a cult. I've seen this happen myself, and it's pretty scary, especially when the subject in questions completely changes his behavior to be more in line with Christian beliefs.

As to your friend's incoherency and so forth, maybe try talking to him? Say that you saw his posts (link him to them) and that they make you a bit worried, etc., etc., and ask what's going on. And then confirm what he tells you by finding out first-hand.

I am glad that this isn't dealing with Scientology, though. Shit is NOT cash.

See, the cult isn't harmful. The people who overreact to the cult are dangerous.

Like you guys are.

They maybe not be overreacting physically but they sure are mentally. They are preaching over social networking, spouting what the average man would consider madness. At this time and age where employers look at their employees profiles, a skim over his would make most label him as mad. They lose friends, job chance (adding to these times difficulties aswell) and family. It is harmful.

Regardless of what oppertunities he may lose out on, the First Amendment protects his right to practice religion as he chooses, and you shouldn't risk your friendship by trying to pull him away from that in any personal or legal way.

To go back to the drugs analogy, should you do nothing if you find out that your friend does heroin, because it might jeopardize your friendship?

It is also a choice the guy has made, and not for anyone else to try and change his mind; much less some of the other suggestions that have been made. Our lives are full of choices which we must make for ourselves. If he is under the age of consent where you live, then inform his parents that you think he is doing something which may be self-destructive. If you think he is doing something illegal, inform the authorities. Both of those courses of action will get him help without him having to know you were involved.
