So, here we are again. Getting mauled by missile corvettes.
I take the initiative to retreat. Unfortunately, I don't think any fighters will make it back to base.
I also send in the assault frigates to provide covering fire.
A few seconds later I get this wonderful message.
With only salvage corvettes to defend the mothership, I decide to use them.
It doesn't go so well, with their ion cannons(which have a faster rate of fire than normal ones) already trained on them.
With the resource collectors returned, the fight is centered around the mothership. The new interceptors prove their worth.
I also send in our ion cannon frigate, the only anti-capital ship unit left, to take care of the enemy ones.
Then the research station kicks the bucket. By the time I realized it, healers were too far out to do any good.
...and that's the last of them.
I take a moment to regroup, and heal.
So, we meet again.
At this moment, once again due to my lack of paying close attention, our ion frigate gets rammed by the enemy carrier, and explodes. I was a bit worried at this point we might not have enough firepower to finish the mission.
My worries were ill placed, and the carrier explodes in a spectacular halo of blue.
FI: The Turanic Raiders have been defeated. We can now return to our immediate goal: preparation for an attack on the Taiidan fleet that devastated Kharak.
FI: Using data from the Taiidan vessel captured at Kharak, we have been able to determine their location. If we strike now we can take advantage of their damaged condition.
FI: Hyperspace coordinates have been transferred to Fleet Command.

OtherFor all our troubles, I only scrape enough RUs to build another research station.

OverviewFor whatever reason, that mission went horribly wrong.
