Never played homeworld 1. Big fan of 2, though. If I may be so bold as to request a squadron:

10x multi-gun corvettes (or other anti-strikecraft corvette)
2x support frigates
5x ion frigates (or other anti-capital ship)

I know we don't actually have any of this stuff yet, but when we do, this would be it.

I know we don't actually have any of this stuff yet, but when we do, this would be it.

That's a pretty tall order. Maybe something a bit smaller? Its manageable, for sure, but if a lot of people want squads, I'll have to cut that down to something like 5x multi-gun with 1 support frigate, and 4 ion frigates.

Anyway, here is the update. I found a history button on the firefox thing, so I can retrace most of my links.


That concludes this update. We will get our first real taste of combat in the next update, which will be either today or tomorrow.

I cannot recommend too much the use of Textarea Cache: a firefox add-on that save anything you type in a form, so you don't loose it if you refresh.


I will look into that. Might save me a lot of trouble down the road. Thanks. Also, I have never downloaded an add-on, so unless its "Nonuser friendly", I might need some help.

"Edit" Ok, I think I got the correct add-on installed.

I got the pictures, its just a pain in the neck to upload them. There is a 90% chance that my lazyness will fail and I'll upload the next update today, so fingers crossed.  :)

Had to do with licensing issues. Company sold IP, wanted it back, yaughta yaughta yaughta, or something. I think Relic or somebody got the IP back, and are making a 3rd. I didn't really follow the story, as you can tell.


Anyway, its 10 PM, and I-will-update.



....and that concludes this update. Its 10:50 now, so I'm going to have a rough time getting up tomorrow. You guys better thank me. D:

<3 you. I'm almost convinced to dig out both my old HWs and have a full campaign playthrough. Was the campaign of HW2 connected to the first? I remember it pretty much the same back-story but different main plot.

Nah, I've been going to bed late lately anyway. Though I didn't expect it to take that long.   :-\

Well, I don't really want to spoiler, but it works like this. They are connected. Cataclism happens a couple hundred years(I think) after Homeworld, and Homeworld 2 happens about another 1000 years after Cataclism(I think again). So they are basically connected, its the same plot, with twists in it in each game. You are the same faction in each game, with the same general idea. "Last hope" and ect.

Which corvette? We have the salvage and the repair. I rarely use repair corvettes, so I may be a bit clunky with them if you chose it. Otherwise, I will just use it for background repairing.


"Edit" I should be a bit better with explaining how the plot works. You have plot A in homeworld. Plot B happens after plot A(could think of it like an expantion), and plot C happens after plot B(same universe, same factions, just further in time)

Yeah. Homeworld 2 basically takes place after the events of homeworld 1 and cataclysm. So homeworld 1 essentially is the second bit of backstory for homeworld 2.

I meant the salvage one.

The thing is, is that 1 salvage corvette cant do much. It can be used for special mission objectives, plus capturing fighters/corvettes(which, as mentioned before, is near impossible).

Also someone else already had "dibs" on the first few salvage corvettes we get.

Finely, I would like to specialize squads, so adding salvage corvettes to a fast combat squad doesn't make too much sense in my mind.
