Ah Homeworld. Maybe I should load it up again and try playing... I finished it a few years back or so but I still remember that Mission in the Junkyard. Sent everyone through and suddenly there was a Indestructible Little Ship that kept stealing all my Destroyers I had Legally Stolen before in Missions past (like the FIRST time you see one)............ Yeah Restarted Built a Repair Corvet (that single docking corvet thing) and a scout, skimmed the outside of the Junkyard, refueling the scout as I went........ Yeah that took like forever but I didn't lose anything... ^_^

there is a much easier way of dealing with the dog... like all strike craft it has a signifigant vulnerability...

btw, as tactial goon i reccomend retiring the scounts and swapping them for interceptors ASAP. scouts arent useful until you actualy have to scout and are so cheap after a bit of mining they can be made as needed.

I'm taking a salvage corvette.

 because that's how I roll.

I volunteer for the scout squad. I'm no great strategist, but I'm quite good at dying.

As fleet tactician i feel i belong in any tactical assets. namely - any use of gravwells or cloaking. preferably stealth fighters co-ordinganting snatch and grab raids with some salvagers. happy to hang out in corvettes (provided they are heavy or multigun) at any other time.

Spoiler: Junkyard stuff (click to show/hide)

Anyway, I'll be getting you guys your squads. Here is how I plan to lay it out.

First off, if you want to RP, then by all means do so. If you want a special name tell me(I'll probably forget), but for now you will be Alpha, Beta, and so on, based on when you get in. You can give orders or not. If you don't, I will do my best judgment. Also, since I will only be managing 10 squads max(I might lower that, 10 squads is a lot to watch). If you lose all the units in your squad(or at least to a point to where you aren't effective), you will be put at the back of the waiting list. If we aren't at the max squad number, you can pick a new squad.

Finely, squads will have to be small. I want to automate most of the units, with small squads we can watch them do their thing. Squads can get bigger as the game progresses, but for now things like 1 frigate or 5-8 fighters will have to due.

Shebs squad will be in for the next update, Shadows will be in about 8 updates, depending on how slow I go. Monkey's will be a long ways away.

Oh, and Japa, 1 salvage corvette can only capture corvettes/fighters, and that's near impossible. You sure? :P

I'd be happy to have you take 2.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Update stuff:

Will work on the next update in an hour or less(so expect it in about 3 hours). I will likely cut it in two(due to the massive amounts of pictures, and my slow connection. I mean the opening scene is like 3 minutes, and it took me hours. ><).

Oh, and if you want to be silly like suicide the mothership(pretty colors), go ahead and ask me. I dont mind taking one picture for the sake of sillyness  ;D.

Finely, I've somewhat decided how I will go about doing this. The information I provide before a conflict will be what I -should- know, and what our ships are. If I see an enemy frigate, I will only tell you what it fires. If there is a certain property(best that comes to mind is the ghost ship), I wont mention it. Sure you can blabberly announce it to everyone, but don't you want to become the best squad?(yes, I will rank squads based on your orders and how well they do their job. If you hide in a corner to get your "survival rank" up, I may just retire your squad. :P).

more than happy to sit on a nice comfy bridge delegating the monotonous task of analysing combat reports to naive ensigns until i can flex the neural muscles once you guys have had fun with big guns and run out of ideas.

anyway, going OOC... Samuel Barbers Adagio for Strings is possibly the best bit of music ever made, and suits those first few hours of gameplay brilliantly. shame that it has been ruined by a string of remixes. the music in homeworld touches on perfection as far as game music goes. atmospehric without being intrusive. the entire soundtrack still sits in my MP3 list pretty much ten years on from playing them game...

hell, tonight im going to dig out the memory pen where i stored my personal version and rain plasma based death on some taidanii ion frigates.

As far as order go, just try to be reckless. Captain Sheb is ambitious, and is all ready to risk his life (well, his men's at any rate) for a Commodore's uniform.

This will be update 2, and proceeded by update 2.5. Update 2 will consist of all the screen stuff. Sensors, harvesting, building, ect ect. Units and formations will be covered in 2.5

That concludes my update. I will get into unit profiles, combat, formations, and ect in the next update, which may or may not be today.

Oh, and I guess I should get a wordpad program going. Lots of stuff to remember.
