Built one interceptor to round us off at 20, and one more repair corvette so that we have one healing each assault frigate.
1st Strike Wing. 20 interceptors, one S.S. Nightingale(support frigate), and two light corvettes. Organization will loosely go like this when sent out on missions, unless another formation is specified.
1st Capital Squadron. Two assault frigates, four light corvettes, and two repair corvettes. Organization will go loosely like this when sent out on missions, unless another formation is specified.
With that, we leave the smoking ruins of Kharak.
The inside of the cryogenic trays. Each "pod" holds one person.
MS: The cryogenic trays have been processed and our colonists are safe for now.
A typical city on Kharak, and then what it looked like a few seconds later after the bombardment.
FI: From the interrogation we learned that a frontier fleet patrolling the borders of a vast interstellar empire was dispatched to destroy our planet.
FI: The captain claimed our people violated a 4000 year old treaty forbidding us to develop hyperspace technology.
FI: Extermination of our planet was the consequence.
(This always cracks me up for some reason. Maybe its the way he says it, so neutral, and leaves so much to the imagination)
We arrive at our destination, a deep space asteroid belt. This is presumably like the Oort Cloud of our solar system. The Kushan refer to it as "The Great Wasteland".
I should start including these, though after this mission you can't make much out of them. Basically it shows the hyperspace travel, from point A to point B. It works as a loading bar also. I didn't figure this out till I noticed it when I constantly had to load missions during this LP.
MS: Hyperspace jump successful.
ObjectivesOur first secondary objective. I will be building a resource controller as soon as possible anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter much. Obviously I will start harvesting...but its a risky business. Our first few missions have shown us how hostile space is, even in our own solar system. How should we go about defending the mothership and the resource collectors?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OtherResource Controller: Its really useful on gathering far away resources(which tends to happen in the campaign), and it can refuel(Read: Not repair!) strikecraft. Resource collectors can drop off their minerals here, cutting out long round trips. However, it does cost a little more than a resource collector.
The Resource Controller provides remote drop-off capability to the Resource Collector, minimizing time spent in transit. Additionally, it supports refueling of six Fighters and two Corvettes at once via its docking pads.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
