Hi all!
I've just finished building a new DF community site at losingisfun.com
I'm looking for people to come along and test it for me and give me some feedback.
It has loads of features, including a special emphasis on bloodline games via groups with their own message boards, file management, images, videos etc, a dedicated image gallery for every user, social networking between members and loads more.
It'd be great if you could leave me some feedback at the site in the forums or in the demo group.

I'm not trying to usurp the forums
Just more of a community hub. Lots of things to do etc. Kind of an experiment, but wanted to give people more ways to interact with one-another via DF.

Oh dear that site has no caching at all. It's quite emphatic about it in the HTTP headers.

At least putting ' in the user/pass fields didn't make it explode.

SQL Injection. Badly made sites will explode in errors (and with possible security problems) if you submit an ' (apostrophe) to a form.

I, for one, while too think something like "oh look a new man decides to pull the blanket and make Teh Best site about DF", still think that it's good that this happens.

Obviously the site is quite amateurish and lacks a serious design (well, bay12games too, so it's not a big issue), but the more people know about DF, the better . We need immigrants to test our new traps. Mwahahaha.

Also, the existence of an extensive forum is quite well, irrelevant. No offense, but you probably only need one board; what's there going to be to talk about that won't be here? Also, what are you aiming for here? A general DF website that has a little bit of everything? In my opinion, you'll need a lot of new stuff in order to not fade into obscurity. May I suggest reviews of various mods or graphical sets? Perhaps keeping track of outstanding things that every DF user should know? A story section would be nice.

Looks nice, it need a little more polish. And clicking "Submit Story" leads me to this error:

What version of firefox are you using? Have you tried changing your cookies. Over half of my visitors use firefox and have had no problems.

Definitely a pretty site with some real potential.  As for Ventuz' error, I was able to replicate - it seems to happen whenever you go to that page while not logged in.  Rather than displaying a "guests can't do this" page like on Profile, it redirects to itself.  Since you haven't logged in during the .3 seconds it takes to redirect, it once again redirects you to itself.  Repeat forever.

I don't see what the problem is with more DF sites, and I think it looks nice. Good job.

The main reason I would check your site is the clear dev feed. Right now bay12games.com/dwarves/ has a quite extensive background which hurts my eyes a bit.

if you could desaturate/darken your BG colors a bit it would be nice too (the ones with the graphical ground).

And I agree that if you have a special section for mods it would be nice. These forums have quite a huge Modding subforum so sometimes it's quite hard to find the mod you want, and the "Community Mods and Utilities" topic has really short descriptions for each mod which do not tell you if you want to play that or not.

Also links to good "Let's play"s (like those of Dwarven Smokeologist aka PlumpHelmetPunk) would be great on a separate page.
