Ikea had a catsplosion recently
« on: September 10, 2010, 01:03:02 am »

So for whatever reason, an ikea in britain released 100 cats into the store over night and filmed it. I know I'm officially addicted to dwarf fortress because as soon as I read it, I thought, their FPS is gonna suck!

Ew, now all the furniture will smell like cat piss before it even reaches your home.

What would the whole point of that be?

Not to mention the cat hair, the clawed furniture, the cat poo. Seriously, what is their reason behind this wierd publicity stunt?

The chance that you could buy a piece of furniture and find a cat inside. Sounds like good marketing to me.

I think the plan was to make bone crafts and give them away with the furniture as a promotional stunt. But the bonecrafter had a fey mood and took over the Mcdonald's next door. They never go where ya want em to.

Wouldn't sitting in a warehouse mean the cat would probably dead by the time it got to you?  I guess you'd have to wait to open the package to find out.

As someone's sig says:

"Free cat, to a good home"
"But it's dead!"
"That's the best part!"

I wonder if they'll release 1000 mice to keep them fed?
