I think he is more on Servant Corps' level, rather than Armok's, only less imaginative and unwilling to defend his ideas.

Let us examine time as it compares to this forum:

You see text.

What actually happens is that a server runs a few php scripts connected to a database to generate a response to your HTTP request over TCP that your browser reads as a HTTP header and HTML, converts the HTML to an image that it then passes on to the OS that sends it through the graphics system to become signals in a cable that your monitor interprets as coloured pixels that you finally see as text on a screen.

Similarily, I do not see time as a 5D fluid, I see it as a Δ. It is too complex for humanity to understand without further research, so why does it matter, except to say "it works." and proceed with life 99.9% of the time. You do not question how you can see the forum very often, do you?

What are you on about?

We pretty much understand how time works, thank you. It's not that complex; nothing in this universe is, at a low enough level.

While you've been telling yourself you're smart for admitting you don't understand time(::)), scientists have gotten to the point of experimental verification of the only kind of time machine this universe permits.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I understand time perfectly.  Here is a brief explanation.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

Also, why are so many of you people mean to me? :'(
It might have to do with what you say on the forum. Just maybe.

Actually, you kind of do.  A lot of the stuff you say has a very high-minded feel to it, like the rest of us are stupid for not understanding the stuff you say (Which is generally unintelligible), and it can be construed as mean.

Well yeah, everything is simple on a low enough level... but we still don't really understand a lot of it. Higher-level you run into interactions between those simple rules that simply don't add up. Hence the need for a unifying theory of physics.

Yo do tend to be a bit condescending. And you tend to make claims then back them up with "I'm an expert, believe me. No I can't prove it, your feeble minds couldn't understand the explanation."

Heh, I understand most of what Armok says. :)
And don't worry Armok, no matter how mean they are, they still make blood sacrifices to you in magnificent temples. :D

Don't worry Armok, I don't think badly of you. I just hope Toady is taking notes, because if the god of blood ever officially works his way into DF, I want him to act exactly like you.

It would be the funniest thing ever.
