I dunno, Cubone wears its mother's skull. Real hard to explain breeding something like that.

There's some pretty convincing fanfic out there that asserts that a Cubone is an orphaned Kangaskhan baby.

And that missingno was created when they decided that Cubone and Kangaskhan would be unrelated, and lazily got rid of the pokemon in between Marowak and Kangaskhan without getting rid of the code itself.

It's all somewhat lulzy, to be honest.
