Totally call them the NOT-BLOBS.

And trade.

"Advanced Technology" is very nonspecific. Ask them to explain exactly what technologies they are willing to trade.

Also, create a very small, very tough mini-probe that has light-bending tech and attach it as stealthily as possible to their ship. If possible, have it equipped to transmit information through interstellar space with as little delay as possible.

Don't, they will have crazy quarantine measures... Maybe if they really weren't infected, if it just hid inside the suit or- no wouldn't work... You could have bugs that attached to the suits and then jumped off to hide on and within the alien vessels with orders to await another planet and then infect and serve...

So they have F.T.L. travel, can jump to any star, to nebulae and planets and asteroids and dead husks of systems long since dormant, and they want our raw materials? Enquire as to why they feel the need to come to use with this deal. Also determine the exact nature of the trade, is it an ongoing trade, where they will continue to update our technology while we provide materials? Will they be giving us everything they have for a lump-sum payment of matter? Maybe they want to build their own death machines mining equipment to hasten the process?

DON'T TRADE! It is a trap. They have access to atoms elsewhere, at no cost to them.

We should trade, but carefully, we should have some parameters:

We do not actually use anything they give us, instead we reverse engineer the technology to develop our own equivalents. (this will help keep us from being tech-dependant on them, or from using technology that they have sleeper protocols within, keeping us free from their influence)

We do not tell them about Hive mind.  They don't seem to be too far ahead of us, as they needed to manually grab a primpsk.  We should be able to keep the hivemind secret, and eventually expose them or their homeworld(s) to our assimilation.  It will simply look like part of the organic system of the planet, rather than an all controlling overlord.

Every interaction should be used as an opportunity to pollinate them, in a way that seems benign.  We should leave all infections as sleeper infections that appear benign, and unalarming.  Only activate the full-fledged-infection once we have extensively sleeper-infected them, and plotted out their holdings.  The last thing we want is for them to be able to fight off/quarantine the infection.  A flip of a switch that converts their empire would be much more effective.  Our mode of infecting them would probably work best if it rode on them/their ships/the materials we give them and first infect their homeworld(s) biospheres.

Glean as much technology as possible from them, diplomatically haranguing them if they are stingy.

Request an ambassador(hostage) that will stay on our planet, offer a primsk in return (one that is made such that they cannot find Jethro in it, maybe just a preprogrammed mind, but no infection, make it rather dull, and don't worry about ever getting him back.  Analyze the ambassador as closely as possible, if necessary, dissect him and reverse engineer their organic matter (if it is not DNA based or familiar) and create a doppleganger that can walk around and wave at the skies, in case they are watching.  We need to determine how their biology works, so that we can develop a manner of infection,(if they aren't dna based)

Deciding that trading for their advanced technology, then backstabbing them, is the best course of action. The two sides begin to negotiate. You make sure that the technology that they are trading isn't the equivalent of beads and bobbles, and soon come to an agreement with them. While they decline the offer to trade ambassadors as it were, you do order some of your microbes to drill through their suits, to gleam information about their biology. The microbes then hitch a ride on the diplomats, passively infecting them.

A small, stealth ship attaches to their mothership. It will stealthily broadcast a beam in a wide radius. With sensitive detection equipment, you could then triangulate the position of the mothership, which should give you an idea of what worlds they've settled in.

As the first shipments of technology arrive, it isn't all that impressive, just advanced copies of devices you already have, or really didn't need. However, while the boost in productivity is nice, there was really only one thing that you wanted from them. Teleportation technology. While the device they give you is smallish (About the size of an small spacecraft) and only powerful enough to move short distances (1-2 light minutes), you quickly reverse engineer it, and deduce the principles behind it. Within a couple of years (And several shipments of minerals) you develop a much more powerful teleportation device. Theoretically, it should be powerful enough to travel 4-5 light years.

Oh yeah.

I'll assume that all our ships now have that. Begin searching for a new galaxy to convert into Jethro.

Alpha Centauri, here we come!  Let's get ready to infect/terraform and then infect Chiron.

I like the idea of space fighters, you put all your transportation, defences, and supplies in a big carrier vessel and all your weaponry into remote craft. If they shoot at your expensive stuff then it doesn't help them win the battle, if they shoot at your weapons, then it doesn't cost you much...

Of course, having the biggest gun possible with the longest range so that you can blow them up at the earliest opportunity is also a good plan...

So I would recommend either space-faring guns or remote weapons...

Eh, AC's equivalent then.  Also, I support the Capital Ship idea!  Huge cruisers with lots of fighters sounds good to me!

Name: Schoolbus Supreme
Propulsion: Teleport/Ion Drives
Extras: Heavily Armoured
    Extra long range scanners
    Internal Habitation Voids (capacity: Brazil)
    Internal Ecosystem Maintenance
    Defensive Lasers
    Carrier Bays
COSTS: ???

The Schoolbus Supreme's mission in life is to ferry entire Jethro-based ecosystems across the stars.  With internal lighting, the inner voids that support such systems should be about as self-sufficient as Jethro presently is on the sun.  More importantly, the Schoolbus Supreme carries a ****-ton of Stingers.

Name: Stinger
Propulsion: Ion Drives
Extras: Light Armour
    Advanced Propulsion and Acceleration
    High-Intensity Lasers
    Secondary Mass Drivers
    Internal Fusion Plants
Self-Aware (organics, still hard-wired to Jethro)
    Cloaked
    Atmospheric Shielding
    Jethro Spore Pods
Costs: ???

Stingers are bare-bones attack wasps, putting the organics straight into the machine to save space on cockpits.  In addition to its orbital blasting/space combat techniques, each Stinger contains a small cache of Jethro Spores that it can use to conduct chemical warfare on habitables.

If a planet isn't habitable, the Schoolbus Supreme gets onto making it habitable (the Supreme maintains orbit and its crew/inhabitants take care of the whole terraforming project).  If it is habitable, Schoolbus dumps ecosystem and the planet is Jethro-formed.  If it is habitable and inhabited, Stingers blast it/poison it with Jethro spores before eco-dumping and Jethro-forming.
