Three toes, arranged in a triangular fashion.

Dig around with your crab legs at the top of the shaft in such a way that lots of earth falls in, potentially crushing anyone who happens to be standing at the bottom and possibly alerting whatever is living in this hole.

Threetoes? :o

Fine fine, probably not dwarves. Still, it's dangerous!

It's not gonna be anythig we know of, but I'm just worried that there have been land-based sentient creatures before us, and that they ALREADY KNOW our weakness...

Our weakness was that we were blind. Besides, we look different now, they might not even recognize us.

They probably will the moment they see our tentacles, but we can protect/hide(?) them in our crab armor!

We need to better our eyes, say like an eye-lid, so that they dont dry up when we aren't necessarily using them... fish have 2 eyelids, why dont we even have one?

Because we didn't think of it?

You improved your eyes to see better out of water. It is safe to assume that you have eyelids.

You dig a pitfall trap by the entrance, covering it with leaves. You collapse the entrance as well, just for the heck of it. You infect some random plants as well.

After exploring for a bit, you return to the pitfall trap, and are happy to find that it is no longer covered with leaves. You are less than happy when you find nothing in it, and the entrance has been re-made.

Now what?
