We could become a fish with eye-stalks. And eat our host. The second one first.

But then you would be stuck in the pond...

Get back on land, eat the host, use new found host nutrition to turn into an amphibious monstrosity.

I think we should stay parasitic, it makes more sense as a fungus to attach ourselves to things that can move us around.  We may want to specialize to a particular species though so we can turn it into a symbiotic relationship and direct the development of both organisms

Though that would be the logical choice of actions, it's more fun to eat the host and turn into a monstrosity that can somehow move with hyphae and roots.

With much grumbling amongst the ranks, it is time to evolve some more! (The red stuff was caviar, by the way. Tasty, tasty caviar.)

You can get one specialized cell or organ, and improve 3 different things.

How would mushroom parasites communicate? Spores seem rather...limited. Sound, maybe, so we can eventually develop some sort of simple language?

I say we should get a hardened outer skin.
We should also improve our hearing-hairs.

I say we get the skin thing, and get legs, or fins. Or both.

Added a poll to figure out whether we should stick with the old evolution path, (Mind-control fungus) or a new Counter-Evolution (See what I did there?) which does not involve fungus mind-control.

Currently, we are 50%. I'll be back in a hour to see how we are doing then. You should be able to change your votes, so if you feel that you have to convert other people to your position, you can.

Or you won't. Whatever.
