Mr. USEC_OFFICER, if we go multicell RIGHT NOW, how much will the efficiency of each individual cell be impacted?

We got 42 cells around, we could try to find some of them.

rather than "going multicell" you should form something like a slime mold that have advantages of both.

While light sensitivity its self isn't very useful it's still the first step toward sight. So my vote goes towards that.

Hmm. Good idea. Humans've proven plasmodial slime molds can solve mazes rather efficiently. I could get behind that.

Slime mold got one disadvantage: and it is taht it's cells cannot specialize. I vote for trichoplax.

That's what we were going to start off as.

Mr. USEC_OFFICER, if we go multicell RIGHT NOW, how much will the efficiency of each individual cell be impacted?

Answer: Not that much, but I would make it take longer to evolve, at least in the beginning.

Slime mold cells can specialize. How do you think trichoplax evolved? To me it looks like the trichoplax evolved from a slime mold.

I believe we shall go slime mold. Anybody else disagree? (Besides Sheb. And techno.)

Slime mold!

(another advantage is we're still technically in the cell stage, but with an additional "number of cells like this" count. No burning bridges and replacing all the mechanics)

Slime mold cells can specialize.

Can they? I always tough slime mold were nothing but a lot of cells packed together in one.
