Mitochondria? You're pretty sure that you'll need have oxygen resistance it order to have one. (And having some sugar might help.)

You have no idea what a virus is. So you just swim around, absorbing the materials that you find lying around. You find another piece of RNA (alright!), four more amino acids, and 2 bits of glucose as well. Needing some energy, you fermentate one of them. You only get 2 points of energy from it though.

You start to make a nucleus. It has no DNA, but it's a start. It uses up five of your Amino acids, and most of your energy. You ferment the last piece of gluose.
