The apostrophe was probably accidental.

wan't? I am not familiar of this conjunction...

That would be contraction. Neither am I, though. Unless he meant 'won't'.
Conjunction, Contraction, Chtulu...

You can't "nerf" a pre-existing real world animal. Call it "primitive cephalopod" or something if you want to do that.

Cuttlefish was the first thing that came to mind. I meant something more in line with a Nautilus instead. (How could I have forgotten it!) Relatively primative (pin-hole eyes) but starting to get complex (jet propulsion!)

I'll be modifying the DNA library to reflect that.

(Also, I'll probably be adding some more creatures with no real-world equivalent (Like that armour-plated fish you infected) After all, you have to expect your presence to affect the evolution of creatures around you.)

New information:

Hive:
Hive-mind: 1 (You)
Infected fishes: 21 (Five armoured)
Infected Nautilus: 1

Materials:
Food: 14 (Food needed: 22)

Spoiler: DNA Library (click to show/hide)

Feel free to point out anything that I might have missed for the DNA library. (I think you have enough to start making some castes or something.)

The nautilus is smart enough to send out hunting/infecting orders for us right? Get to that.
While the nautilus adjusts to its new lower management position send another exploration party out to discover new areas/new species.

I think we should create a hunter caste with the normal fish body, normal tentacles for holding prey down while it is infected/killed, leaves to get food in long expeditions, Radula back in the stomach to get the last of the food off to stretch food further, and hypnomes to give extra speed to make up for armor.

I agree.

Any thoughts on making the main hive mind mobile, in case the area gets depleted of food/hosts. Just make some boyancy bladders, and inflate them and let the water currents carry the mind to new feeding grounds. Assuming we're not in a stagnant isolated pond somewhere.

This is good, but we should wait until we get some defensive measures up.

Retrofit non-armorplated fish w/ jet propulsion

Next time, we shuld evolve burrowing roots so only leves and a few tentacles or comunication is exposed, and the rest is securely protected under the sea floor.

Uhm, I dont mean to poke a hole in how this is going, but..... Do we have any sort of circulatory system? I beleive us to be about the size of a house-cat, maybe a medium sized dog, and even plants have a sort of primative system to regulate nutrients... though I dont believe Fungi to, only because each cell of a fungi is like an independant organism...

I think we are actually spread in a thin layer on the surface of stuff in the stationary stage, and use the hosts circulatory system in the parasitic stage.

I think this is the closest thing we'll get to a clear picture of what we are, until we actually evolve into the creature stage.

I thought we were in 'Tribal' already? wasn't Fungus our 'Creature'?
